Hello to all,
I've been lurking here for some time, reading posts and just doing a recon of the territory, so to speak. It looks friendly to me, so I decided to show myself. Always nice to know that there are so many other firearms enthusiasts (aka Gun Nuts) out there. I suffer from this addiction and strangely, I don't want to be cured. Just need my daily fix and I'm OK!

Anyway, yesterday I spent a few hours at the gun show In York, PA. Crowded? Oh, man! I picked up a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 hi-cap. Looks and feels great. I haven't fired it yet and doubt it'll happen today. Too stinkin' cold.
Any tips on, or critiques of this weapon would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the site. Nice firearm you picked up. I went bak and forth between the Springfield Armory and the Kimber when I bought my .45acp and still sometimes second guess my decision.:)

Welcome Aboard My Friend-

I'm glad you found us, and hope your stay is long and prosperous~!

You know, I have strongly considered a Springfield MC Operator for
a long time now. Guess I will have to recover from buying the NIB
Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special first.:uhoh: :D

Welcome... as an Gun Nut myself, I'd say the biggest tip about owning/shooting a 1911 is moving to Arizona. See, it may seem a little drastic, but it's never too cold to shoot here (although sometimes a bit hot) and the effect works on all types of firearms too! :neener:

Welcome aboard!

-Colin
