After searching this site and the web I'm having trouble finding glass bead finishing services for revolvers. How about a little help/suggestion please

Where are you?

You can find glass beading almost anywhere--check your yellow pages or google it.
To pay FEDEX/UPS shipping to get a gun bead blasted is beyond me.

I guess what Im asking is is there anythimg special to finishing a gun, or is metal metal ?

ahpd, I am not sure how to get the information here but this is what I did...

Go do the revolver section. Click search, and click bead blasting... there are a number of threads on revolvers and it looks like a common process.

From what I have seen, glass beads come in different sizes, and one can regulate the air pressure used to propel those beads.

Each of those two variables will have some affect upon the final outcome. But as far as metal goes, stainless steel is essentially stainless steel.

Talk to the guy doing the glass beading. If he is a craftsman, he can take a piece of scrap and show you the different results available.

Click on the attached pic. A semi-gloss, almost frosted-titanium look. Beautiful. I would really like to get my SS 1911 done in this finish.
