For home defense I am thinking about using winchester ranger T 124 grain +P ammo. My question is can the Glock handle this with the stock recoil spring or would I need to uprgrade to the stouter 19lb spring from Wolff? Thanks

I agree with Jim. European 9mm ammo is "hotter" than American and what we consider a +P round here is in most cases a "regular" 9mm there. With regards to the GLOCKs, I would leave it alone. The only stock part I would ever suggest anyone consider replacing would be the sights if the gun is to be used for tactical reloads and such.

According to the armorer's manual, the Glock 17 is rated to handle ammo loaded 5,000psi higher than the SAAMI +P limit.

If the recoil spring has had a LOT of rounds through it, you might want to get a new one, but there's no need to go to a stiffer spring.
