Glock 17 vs 19

For sure try and shoot them both and figure out for yourself. I went from a G26 to a G19 and found the full size conceals just as good for me and now I carry a G37. It is just as easy to hide for me as a G19.

We will all feel different about it. They them all and see for yourself, thats the fun of getting a new gun......

I own the glock 19 and a springfield xd 9 I personally think that the glock is very uncomfortable, My wife who has smaller hands prefers the glock. If I were to carry concealed I would carry the glock only because of its size

After getting a Glock21 and 2ndGen Glock20, I have a new found appreciation for my Glock 17, the G20 and G21 feel great in my hand, don't get me wrong, but the G17 feels better, much better. The 2.5mm difference in width really makes all the difference.
The G17 was my first choice, as I too figured it would better suit my big hands, plus I thought I'd get better accuracy with the longer barrel, but to tell you the truth, I would have no hesitations recommending a Glock 19 as I just recently bought a Glock 26 and I feel like I can pull just as much accuracy out of it, as I can my G17.
Although I have never shot the G19, I am confident it would be just as accurate and useful and if not, a little easier to carry than the G17. Whatever you pick I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Okay, truly--it's personal preference. The grip circumference at the widest and narrowest points are identical between the two guns. The G19 is 1/2" shorter vertically and 3/4" shorter lengthwise. Not significant by any means. Size nor grip will be an issue, it's just what you like.

Accuracy--the 19 is on par with the 17. A buddy shot 13 8" plates in a row without a miss from 75 yards (hey--we were screwing around, and thought 'lets run the plate rack...from the next county' ". It's more than capable of keeping up with a G17 in terms of accuracy.

How does it feel? I have the G22 and the G23--an analog of the two guns you're talking about. They don't feel one lick different in the holster. I usually carry the G22, but when I carry the 23 there is literally no difference.

It's all about what you like. the guns you're asking about are literally interchangeable.

It's appropriate that this thread is 4 1/2 years old, as far as I'm concerned. I've been debating with myself about whether or not to get any Glocks in 9mm for at least that long.
