Between these two, Glock 17. Between any other caliber, the Sig is the better gun.

It depends on what you want...

Glock= lower price, less weight, more durable.

Sig= better trigger, more pleasant to shoot IMO, "feels" like a real gun.

i chose the glock, i like the one trigger pull aspect each time, as opposed to the da/sa that is common with sigs, if it was between a dak sig and the glock it would be a closer race but i would still take the glock.

Shot plenty of both, the sig is my choice for most aspects of gun ownership. The biggest detraction for me is the grip angle and finger ridges on the glock. I am not the type to be a fanboy or hater of any brand, and I really wish glocks fit my hand better, as I know they are superbly reliable, and a great value as far as pistols go, but they don't. To me the question is "what is easier to tolerate, DA/SA, or one of the most uncomfortable grips around?". Now, if a 226DAK is a choice, as possum pointed out, then the choice is clear.

My vote is for the Sig P226 too.

I had a Glock 17 and I liked it but I swear the Sig seems to be made especially for me. It fits my hand like a glove and points straighter than any other pistol I have fired.

I carried a SIG P229 for years. Bought a GLOCK 17 and I shoot circles around the SIG.
Kept the GLOCK sold the SIG.
