Quick question, probably no answer.

My fiance loves to shoot my Glock 19, but after 75 -100 rounds she mentions that the backstrap hurts her thumb joint.

Her grip is proper, but her hand doesn't extend totally around the double stack grip of the Glock, so her thumb joint is positioned directly under the slide.

Suggestions?

She's stealing my Kimber all the time now ...

only thing I can think of is a grip reduction or getting her own single stack mag gun. matching kimbers maybe?

Other than the single stack idea try an Agrip. I use one on my Kahr PM9 which being much smaller/lighter has pretty snappy recoil. I also used on on my KT P3AT - trust me it makes the world of difference on that little pocket biter.

Adds no appraciable thickness but does give a nice cushioning feel.

One other option would be a limbsaver but since that does add notable thickness in the upper backstrap area it may be problematic for small hands.

As much as I love Glocks, I'd have to recommend a Kahr or a Sig P239 or a J-frame for someone with hands that small.

You could try having her grip mostly with her support hand (about 70% 30%), thumbs forward, which is the proper way to shoot anyway.

Robar does grip reductions on Glocks--that would probably help.

It just sounds like the grip is way too big for her. I doubt putting more material on the grip is going to help, it will probably make it worse. The G-19 is almost to large for me and I weigh 215lbs and am 5' 11". It like all Glocks is fat and square, not easy to grip. Let here try some guns at a gunshow or gunstore. Make sure you let her try a Kahr K-9 since it is has the best ergos of any auto I have ever help with the exception of some of the larger Colt .380s. The P-9 is the plastic version of the K-9 and the grip is too thin for most people. Put an A-Grip on a P-9 and you would have a very nice package.

Ditto on the Agrip. Unless she's a dwarf, she can learn to grip a G19, although she might need to make a little grip adjustment. I'd definitely give the Agrip a try first.

I know some pretty small women who don't have any problems shooting fatass G21s and G30s.

Agrips make the gun's handle blockier.. if it is that her hand is small this won't help..

what about hand exercises? is she doing any of that..could be a muscle strain..
