Glock 19 or 26?

Folks who use your Glock 19 for carry, it doesn't seem too big?

Not at all. I changed out a gas tank strap on my Jeep and went shopping for a few hours today, gun on me the entire time, didn't bother me at all

I had a 23 and a 27. I didn't find the 27 much smaller than the 23. I was 5'6" and 146 lbs as the time. I had no problem concealing the 23 under a heavy shirt or light jacket. I used a Kel-Tec P11 or P32 for warmer weather when I couldn't wear a cover garment.

If I could only have a single sidearm, it would probably be a Glock 19, if that tells you anything.

Glock 19

I like my Glock 19, fitted with crimson trace grips. Use for CCW & target practice. Very reliable & accurate gun.:)

I have both and I carry the 26 most of the time. I find no real difference in accuracy between the two and the G26 does have the advantage of starting out in a smaller package. If more ammo capacity is wanted with the G26, using a G19 magazine fitted with an A&G grip spacer can be a good option. Like others have said, with the G26 you start small but you have the option of making it bigger if need be.

Katana and WEG...nice pics. My G26 rides with me alot. It is a little heavy but I am use to it. If you can find a range that rents Glocks and try both.

Great to hear because right now I'm leaning more towards the 19. I handled by buddy's Kahr, and while it's slimmer than a Glock 26, has similar dimensions otherwise. I didn't really like the feeling of holding a pistol where my pinky hangs off and would probably dislike shooting it even more.

A 26 can become a 19 but a 19 can never be smaller. You can use a g19 mag with coupler for the extra rounds comfort. If you want/need a rail then get the 19.

26

I have a 26 and my dad has a 19. The 26 is just as accurate as the 19 and you can always use a 19 mag with a spacer at the range. The short grip of the 26 just makes it easier to conceal.

Have you considered getting Glock 22/23/27 and using conversion barrels to shoot 9mm? (Lone Wolf makes drop in conversion barrels - $99 from Cheaper Than Dirt) - Gives you more caliber/cheaper practice options to include shooting lead bullets. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/GNS141-1.html

G27 is the same size as G26 and although it kicks a bit more than G22, it is just as accurate and would be my recommendation for carry (you can always carry higher capacity magazines and I practice shooting with full size magazines in the G27) - I have the PG2733 Pearce magazine base (California legal) for my pinky and works well in the ankle holster or the Fobus paddle/belt holster (depending on my attire). http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/72858-1.html

Fobus makes a nice universal Glock paddle/belt holster with a forward slant (model GL2B) for carry ($20 from MidwayUSA) that is comfortable (I forget that I have the G27 in my waist in about 3 minutes) and accomodates G17, G19, G22, G23, G26, G27, G31, G32, G33, G34 and G35:

Ya want a G19 size gun that shoots something with a "4" in it's caliber name?? Get a G36!!
Oh yeah, there's a "5" in there too!!! ;)

If yer still wed to the European pellet, get the 26. Ya can't carry a G19 in the pocket!! That's how and what I carry. G36 is HD gun under the pillow.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. Definitely leaning towards the 19. I'd appreciate everyone's opinion on carrying the 19 IWB.

I have tried both and sold the G19. The G26 is just as accurate. Just as fun to shoot, and easier to conceal.

I carry the G26 with a 10 round magazine, and a G17 magazine as spare.

I have owned both and kept the 26. For me, I noticed the difference in size when carrying the two. Although you can't go wrong with either.

I use Appendix Inside-The-Waistband for carry. I find either to work very well in this position. This is what I use and it works for G34, 17, 19 or 26:

...and easier to conceal.
At 5'11 and 218, I find it depends on what I wear. Sometimes I've just got to go with the G26 grip frame.
