I am thinking about getting a Glock 21 and adding a sound suppressor to it. How loud will the report be once the suppressor is installed. I have heard that a .45 does not require an special subsonic ammo simply because .45ACP is already subsonic. However, I have also heard that a 9mm with subsonic rounds fired through a suppressor is many times more quiet than a suppressed .45. So, What will a suppressed .45 sound like? For comparison, I have shot suppressed .22's with subsonic rounds, suppressed MP-5's with subsonic rounds, and a suppressed AK with standard 7.62X39 ammo.

Also, what suppressor do you recommend? Will I still be able to use the standard sights with the suppressor. If not, are there available tall sights for Glocks? Please post pics if you have the setup that I am looking to get or if you have something similar or that you would recommend. Thanks.

Try Silencertalk.com The site is dedicated to suppressors. Take note though that the site is run by an employee of one of the suppressor manufacturers so some info may be slanted towards those models.
I don't have the Glock set-up but I do have a suppressed 45. My suppressor shot dry will make your ears still ring a little bit. However shot wet, it is fine to shoot without hearing protection. I would say it is about half again as loud as the 22's you have shot suppressed.
On the Glock you will need higher sights to see over the can.
