Glock 22C for CCW

I've given my Glock 22 to my father to occasionally CCW, it's rather big for a CCW in my experience.

Yes, the 23 is the compact version, you can look at all the models glock manufactures on glock.com.

The G22 is a good choice, a little big for CC but in the right holster it will work. I have serpa holster's for all my carry gun's. Just use the forward cant to hide that grip. I also had the G22 and it was a great gun.

I Carry a G22 with either my Serpa or my Uncle Mikes ($10) IWB and it conceals just fine with a little forward cant, if you don't like a forward cant, then get the G23.

congrats on the glock the 22 is a fine handgun, though i tend to agree that it is a little larger than what i like to carry when i ccw. i am a fan of glock 9mm handguns, but not really glocks in any other caliber, they do thier best work in 9mm.

also the ported models are good for competetion and range guns but i believe that they are impractical for defensive purposes, just shoot from retention once with one and you will see what i mean.

I would not carry a COMP model for SD/HD because the gases that are released from the comp area of barrel/slide may interfere with you sight and night vision.
The 22C is a compensated model, the 22 is the non-compensated model, the 23 is the compact and the 27 is the sub-compact model.

I have heard that the excessive flash at night is not nearly as bad as you might think, but you should probably just find a low-light (or dark, if possible) place to shoot a few rounds of whatever ammunition you intend to carry and see if it bothers you. But the ports could cause some burnage if you had to fire from an unorthodox position, like rright out of the holster.

.40 is a fine caliber for defense, it's basically a 9mm, but more of it.

PS- I have the 27, my first Glock, and I love it. Never liked Glocks or the idea of Glocks until I got one, now I am planning on more. Be careful.
