Glock 26 Concealability?

Get yourself a Kahr CW9, they a less expensive than a G26(around $400 NIB) with all the reliability but better ergonomics. They are rated for +P 9mm ammo. The pistols are extremely easy to carry and conceal, backed by very good CS(if you should ever need it). Also, if you haven't felt a Kahr trigger yet....then you haven't felt the best DA trigger in the business

Totally agree here. I had my doubts when I ordered mine but since I have picked it up it has blown me away. It is very slim and conceals very well under just a t-shirt.

I previously owned the Glock 27 (.40 cal version of the 26) and ended up getting rid of it for the Glock 19. It was a fine weapon and easy enough to conceal but the grip did not fit my hand well. If you do go with the Glock 26, get yourself a Crossbreed Supertuck. It will make it much easier to conceal.

I just put a 19 mag and sleeve on my 26, best of both worlds, if you need covert you have the 10, then the plus 2 for 13 rounds carry, and a 15 +1 for range carry or just because. I have had several glocks and still have 3, the cool thing with them is they adapt to whatever situation you need, and you can make the 26 larger but you cannot make the 19 smaller. Personal choice is more important, and knowledge never hurt.

I keep reading people saying stuff like, "You can't carry a G26 in your pocket--it's too fat and blocky."

Well, I'm doing the impossible. Every day. In loose jeans, cargo pants/shorts or sweat pants/shorts.

When I got my concealed handgun license, I started carrying the G26 in my pocket. Later on, I switched to 442 or 642. But I can't shoot the Airweights as well as the Glock so I'm back to pocketing the G26.

Obviously, you can pocket carry a Glock 26.

But one of the Airweight Smiths is easier to carry and more comfortable.

At a training class I did where we were learning about utlizing a "back-up" gun, the instructor did some side by side and on top comparisons of one persons glock 26 with some of the snubbies. They were essentially the same size. If I hadn't seen it in person I would not have believed it. For me, I'd rather have the 10+1 since it's essentially the same size.

Yes, the baby glocks really are about the same size as the smith j frame snubbies.

But the j frame snubbies are SO MUCH easier to carry.
They melt into your body much better than the glock, which sticks out like a brick.
When worn in the pocket, they don't print as much as the glock, and nothing to me is a faster draw than a j frame in a front pocket.
When compared IWB, i can conceal my j frame under just a t shirt, and a pretty tight t shirt too. I have to wear at least a light jacket to wear the glock IWB. YMMV.
These are only my experiences, some may agree or disagree.

I've carried the G17, 19, and 26 over the past 13-14 years. The only concealment advantage the 26 has over the 19 is its easier to use in an ankle holster. The little bit shorter and taller does help in that regard. If you put the +2 or pinky extension on the 26 magazine you're making the grip the same length as the 19 with fewer shots.

I have carried a 26 and 19 every way you can think of and the only advantage the 26 has is the ankle holster I've mentioned and also a pocket holster.

I've seen a lot of people who carried and shot a 19 well have problems handling a 26 accuracywise. Yes they could have worked it out but just decided to carry the 19 instead.

I'm not a fan of +P or +P+ in semiauto pistols which are designed to run in a certain pressure range. Yes any quality gun will take the extra pressure for a long time but you really don't gain a lot moreso in a shorter barrel.

The Glock 26 is an amazing little pistol. You get lots of versatility with it. The flat based magazine gives you a bit extra concealability. Add a finger rest for a better grip...but it's not as bad as using a Glock 19 magazine because the front part sticks out (works great for appendix carry). Use Glock 19 magazines for full capacity and decent concealability. You can get a full length grip by using Glock 17 magazines.

It's also very accurate, especially if you do a "10 cent trigger job" and add a 3.5 pound connector.

Maintenance is easy and you can repair everything but the frame, slide, and barrel yourself. $100 worth of parts and magazine rebuild kits will keep the gun going for decades.

If you cannot hide a Glock 26, 27, or 33 you're doing something wrong.

Glock 26 in my opinion is the easiest gun I have ever carried. They shoot great, actually unbelievable for there size. I also have a smith and wesson airweight and find it harder to carry and you have 5 rounds of a less potent caliber.

Obviously, you can pocket carry a Glock 26.

Yes, you can. I have a nemisis pocket holster for mine and use it infrequently. Most would agree that the 26 feels like a brick in the pocket though, and would also agree that it is more easily and comfortably carried in a holster.

Cargo pants yes, but it is still uncomfortable for most. Can a Glock 26 be carried by most people in a front pocket? Yes... Is it a pocket pistol? No....

Try carrying the G26 IWB at 1:00. Wear a light shirt and a hawaiian type over shirt (obviously untucked). The G26 disappears. I use a Galco holster and a good gun belt. Don't underestimate the importance of a good gun belt.

I find that when wearing it behind the hip....it's just too big and bulky...(for me).
