Just buy the 29, then you won't need any more excuses "not" to handload.:neener:
(unless you already do, then disregard this post):scrutiny:

This ^^^^^^^^^^^
I have a G20, G22, and G29. All in the SF model. Pearce extensions on the 10 rd G29 mags. No recoil problem in and load. The 29 is my favorite followed by the G22. And like said, it's a good reason to get into a reloader! Though, there are indeed many places now selling full power 10mm new ammo and more that sell reman ammo. 10mm is no longer the rare ammo it was due to the returned popularity of the round.

Is there a CCW cartridge MORE serious than the 10mm?

+1

I'll add that it is extremely versatile as well. 135 grain bullets up to 220 grain bullets loaded from wimpy to manly. The G20 is my preferred woods gun and the G29 is a fine CCW gun.

I do reload and enjoy my 10mms; however, the old "hits harder" mantra, relative to s.d. against humans, is just sophomoric silliness.

I guess I am a 52 year old silly sophomore?

I sincerely wish to be better informed - assuming a scenario where a life threatening situation is unavoidable and I have made a decision to draw my weapon - if the objective of self defense is shoot until there is no longer a threat, and I have a choice between a store bought 9mm hollow point or my home rolled 10mm near maximum pressure round, it seems to me I would have a better chance stopping the threat sooner with the 10mm.
Please explain what is the error in this logic?:scrutiny: I do recall there was a court case years ago that covered this topic, but is that still relevant?

Do some more research, 52-yr-old grasshopper, and all will (well, "might") be revealed to you. Your logic might not be faulty, but the predicate upon which you exercise your logical reasoning skills is fallacious, in my humble opinion.

OK, during my lunch break I did more research and now I see what you mean, there are other cases cited in this forum, Harrold Fish being just one often-cited case. So, yes I enjoy reloading and still working on tweaking my recipe. But I am now convinced the best application would NOT be for SD, but perhaps as a backup defensive round while hunting in areas were large / dangerous game are to be found.

What Sharpsdressedman said:

It is my number one choice. If I had to fight, it would be my fighting tool of choice. I have many guns to enjoy for their looks, heritage, fun at the range etc, but for business, either the Glock 29 or Glock 20 if you need a bigger gun.

I don't have a 29, but do have a 20SF & love it.
