I am thinking about getting a 10m. I have small hands, so I have pretty much narrowed it down to a Glock 29.

I am going to a gun show tomorrow and I would appreciate any input from owners such as pros and cons, anything in particular to look out for, different generations of production etc. I tried to get onto Glock talk, but couldn't register for some reason.

If you have small hands, pick up and shoot a G29 before you buy.

I like the 29, even with full power ammo; but unless you're willing to shoot the 10mm they way it was intended, you're better off with a .45, .40SW, 9mm, or whatever else you shoot well. I see no point in buying a 10mm and then loading it down to .40SlowandWeak specifications.

They make some FINE 10mm ammunition in the manner in which it was intended.

I concur. If you have small hands I doubt if you'll find the Glock comfortable.

I have to agree with the others. If you have small hands, i really do not suggest the 10mm. Go for the 9mm or the 40. They are both built on the same size frame and are a much better fit. I have medium to large sized hands and even i do not like the grip size of the 45/10mm frames. Try shooting the subcompact 40S&W, the model 27. It has a smaller and much easily managed grip than the 10mm. And if you are using it for self defense, it is more than enough to stop em in the close quarters that you would be using a subcompact anyways. Just my 2cents.....

two hands

I carry a 29 when I hunt. I am not huge guy, but the 29 fits me fine.
The recoil is not that severe, if you can handle it.
Mine is super trustworthy. never a jam.

And I am just a fair shot, but I shoot tight groups with it. But I only use it in places I might have to dispatch an animal.

Kinda like some carry 41 and 44 mags. I would suggest a smaller gun for the price of the ammo, and the fact that unless you are a going to practice a lot. the recoil is no joke.

I have one and love it. My hands are not that big and it and its big brother the G20 fit just fine. The recoil is not that bad and it is a very accurate gun. Ammo is expensive unless you reload.
