I recently purchased several new and used 10 round mags for my gen 2 glock30. When they have 10 rounds they do not fit in the pistol. The mags fit with 9. The original mags work perfectly with 10. Does anyone know if there have been changes to the gen 3/4 mags that makes them not work in the older g30? Pretty bummed. Spent a bunch of money. I have contacted glock via email also.

Thanks

have you tried to really force it in? I have to do that sometimes with new mags for my 26 or 30.

The mag spring should break in over time...

I have tried force, but they just won't fit. With the original 10 round mags you can push the top bullet down a bit, indicating there is still a little travel left in the follower. With the new mags, the follower is flush with the bottom when loaded. The followers travel all the way to the bottom of the mag in the new ones but not in the original mags.

I think the followers are the culprit. My mags that work have a blunt tip and are labeled 3955. The problem mags have a follower with a pointed front end which steepens the angle of the bullet, angleling the nose higher. Gonna see if glock. An send me the 3955 follower.

Had the same problem with 4 (brand new) original Glock mags for my -30. Found I had to really force the magazines into the well to lock. Eventually solved it by putting in an aftermarket +2 extension on each magazine, and they load up 10+2 and I can lock the magazines in properly now, without forcing them in. Worth a looksee?

Load the magazines full, let them sit, shoot them some, reload let them sit. They will wear in, they are just new.

Talked with glock and they said the same thing some of you did. Load them and let them sit. I did order some new followers today for the used ones. Those were looking a bit ragged. Thanks to all for taking the time to respond.
