Glock 30 magazine question

When I load my g30's mag with 10 rounds (capacity), I cannot rack the slide. When only 9 rounds are in it there is no problem racking. I know I could just fill with 9 but seems like 10 should work. Is this something that needs to go to Glock or a glock armorer? Thanks

Will it fire and cycle if you load one in the chamber then put a ten stack in it? Are the magazines/springs new? If so, the condition should go away as the magazines see some use and the springs take a set.

Old Glock mag springs got soft when you kept them full of rounds.

New Glock mag springs are extra tensioned for extended full load use.

I tell people to load their new Glocks mags full (or however rounds they can fit) so that springs are compressed. When the spring tension softens, they are properly tensioned for max round count.

In the mean time, you can chamber a round then top off your mags before reinserting the magazine.

I have the same problem with my G30, and this subject has been brought up here on THR before - it is a common occurrence.

The "10-round" mags for the G30 do indeed hold 10-rounds, but they cause the gun to not function when they have 10-rounds in them.
The slide is unable to strip off the top round when they are stuffed too full.

I just load my mags with 9-rounds and have one in the chamber, for a total of 10-rounds.

Yep. That is how they are. Goes back to the initial military contract. Mags are to hold 10 rounds and are to be loaded into a gun with the slide that is locked back. If you want to load the mag into a gun with the slide forward then you have to load 1 less round into the mag. Is a standard occurrence with any Glock mag.
