I am looking into purcahsing a subcompact 45. The Glock 30 seems interesting. For the owners of G30 out there, is the recoil manageable?

Thanks.

I have a 30SF and find it fairly pleasant to shoot (especially when compared to a G36). I think that the aircraft carrier size slide and wide grip contribute to that.
Regards,
Greg,

Thanks for the replies. I am desperately looking into a 45. I just can't decide but would eventually want to end up as my carry.

I think my G-30 recoils less than a 1911. The wide body really distributes the recoil well.

Great gun. Shoots really well for me, even one handed.

The recoil is basically non-existant.

If you ever have wondered what they mean by *push vs. *snap recoil, shoot a G30 and G27 back to back.

make that *some.

Mine personally has never had an issue after 1000+ rounds. I still think its more of a limp wrist issue than anything else.

Absolutely correct; some owners have reported no failures at all:)

There are more than a few G30SF owners that would disagree with your sentiment; myself included. The trigger bar was most definitely the cause of early stoppages in mine; it has run perfectly post polishing of the trigger bar problem areas.

Greg

Love the Glock 30. Shoots as easily as the 21, and from my hand, accuracy is equal also. Not to mention lots of bullets compared to 1911 pistols . Consider it as being equal to chopped 1911s. I've shot.

I never felt the recoil on the one I had was excessive or hard to control. The .45 Auto actually has rather soft recoil and is not the fearsome beast it is sometimes made out to be.

AIRCRAFT CARRIER SLIDE!! HAA ! +1 to that. Carries CC well though. The finger rest Mag helps with the hold, the weight helps wit the recoil........luv mine!

FWIW, I have a 29 and a 30. My wife and I both enjoy shooting them. IMO, recoil isn't bad out of either one.

I'm a satisfied Glock 30 owner.
Felt recoil is no different than any other .45 caliber handgun.
Be advised that the Glock 30 is more of a compact sized pistol (Glock 19/23/25/32/28) than a sub-compact sized pistol (glock 26/27/28/33/39).

I have both the Glock 30SF and the Taurus PT145 Pro. The Taurus is significantly smaller and lighter. The Glock has less recoil and seems built much tougher. Everything on the Taurus save the magazine seems like it's built lightweight and won't last.

The recoil is very manageable......but it is there. Don't let the post that states that recoil is non-existent fool you....I'm not sure what he was shooting out of his pistol. It's not nearly as snappy as a .40 S&W....more like a push. I love my G30 and it's very accurate....I think you'll like it if you have any recoil tolerance at all....

Let's see, concealable, accurate, low recoil, durable, and 11 rounds of .45...what's not to like? :D I can't speak to the SF issues as mine is a G30 with night sites, and a Crimson Trace lasergrip. Great package!

Well my friend that would be the first time in history that limp wristing caused metal damage to internal parts of a gun. If you do some net searching you will see pictures of chewed up trigger bars. This isnt just a trigger problem, it also causes a Failure to return to battery issue.

The worst part of this though, is that most of the guns that get sent to glock get sent back with the exact same problem, and a note saying that there is nothing wrong.

i have owned a G30 for years. 1. load it with 185 gr anything--more fun to shoot. 2. get a couple of the G21 mags with spacer--you won't believe it and you have 13+1. 3. shoot it. you can shoot a 30 all day long--and i've done it. many an idpa match as witnesses. 4. mindset--the 30 is tougher than you and i are. 5. enjoy--no explanation needed.

WOW! Thanks for your responses. It looks like the G30 will be my next purchase. I just can't get it yet, just bought a DPMS M4 2 days ago.:):p

Its my main carry piece. Nice shooter with very manageable recoil. Definitely more push than snap. The gun is extremely accurate and points very naturally for me. I got rid of my G26, because I rely so much on my G30 now.

It did take a bit of getting use to carry wise, as its a bit wide, but with the right holster I am very comfortable with it.
