Just picked up a new G36 and Have a question.
It will not feed my reloads that I have used in every 45 I have owned.
It seems to feed hardball & Hydrashocks fine but not SWC's.
My load is a 200gr hard cast plated simi wad cutter in winchester brass, winchester primer, with 5.5gr winchester 231.
I shoot these loads in my tricked out Colt Government model, Sig 220, Glock 21, LLama minimax, Springfield, and others owned by other people and never had a problem. But this new G36 will not feed 2 in a row.
The small diameter of the tip of the round hits the bottom of the feed ramp and digs in and thats the end of it. :cuss:
Looks to me like the bottom of the feed ramp is not quite long enough, and it has a slight radius to it, not square like most ramps.
My Keltec 3AT required me to grind a radius like this into it to prevent the ramp from hitting the top round in the mag. and putting a "SmileyFace" on the bullet. :)
Adjusting the feed lips on the mag to change the angle of the bullet is not an option here due to the molded plastic that extends almost to the end of lips.
I hate to start tweeking the mags when it might be a barrel problem.
Has anyone else run across this problem? :banghead:

The G36 was designed to feed jacketed rounds.

This is true. And my Glock 36 will not feed 230grain Cor-bon +Ps at all. Some guns don't feed all kinds of bullets.
You're cleaning that Glock polygonal barrel real good right? Lead build-up in them can be bad for your gun's health.

Good choice for .45. I got one myself last week too. Haven't put much ammo into it and will be loading my own .45 when I get a couple 1000 cases ready to do so.

Are you only having problems with reloaded ammo? I am had a problem with double feeds and was shooting CCI Brass Blazer. Have you experienced this at all?
