Haven't seen too much about this gun, but am really interested.

Does anyone who OWNS OR HAS OWNED/SHOT this gun have anything to say about it? Anybody chrono'd the Glock 39?

Don't bother posting if you're going to say "Durrrr .45 GAP is answer to unasked question, get a .38 Special/9mm/.40 S&W/.45 ACP/10mm," or ".45 GAP is never going to last," as I've heard all those arguments already.

Not sold on .45 GAP, but it seems to me that it offers .45 ACP power in a smaller frame, i.e. compare Glock 39 versus Glock 36- same capacity and power in a smaller gun.

Downsides seem to be ammo availability and cost, although some people have noted that it being an unpopular cartridge mean that it's easy to find in the places that do stock it.

I have a 39, excellent little big bore gun with a 9mm/40 grip. I carry Winchester Ranger 230 Grain Bonded in my 39 and the recoil is stoudt but not overwealming for follow up shots
.
Ammo is harder to find locally, but is available on line but some of the better SD ammo can be hit and miss. Buy it when you see it. Most PD's that issue the GAP use Speer GD's in 200 grain which is a fine round I just prefer my 45's to be 230's...

I did have all three Glock Gap models at one time but could not see the need for the G37 but the G38 and 39 are keepers.

The pistol to me shoots better than a G27 (less snappy than the 40) but not as well as the G26.

I used to doubt the Glock GAP's but I am a believer now and will never part with the 38/39.

Well I have had a 30sf and 36 in the past.

The recoil on the 39 is a tad sharper than on the 30, this may be due to size of the 30 and it is my understanding that some GAP is loaded on the higher end of standard 45ACP but well below +P. On the other hand the grip of the 39, particually if using a Glock +2 (+1 in the gap) extension is excellent. The G30 is fat, thus my grip is not as good.

So if you add +P 45acp ammo into the mix then the 39 is far more controllable than the 30.

I did not like anything about the G36 and I got rid of mine long ago so I will not comment on how it compares.
