My family got that [apparently] rare set of Glock 42s that work just fine. However, we also got the Ruger LC9s and they work just fine too. Work extremely well in fact ... like our 42s.

We'll likely wait on the 43s but not because of any bad experiences, we're just not all that enthusiastic about getting what we already have.

Now if the 43 proves to be a really jam up whiz-bang of a single stack 9mm ... all bets are off.

I was badly burned by my quick purchase of G42. Not reliable, not accurate, with several types of ammo. Got rid of it FAST! So a G43 would be an extra cautious acquisition.

If I'm buying a new model gun I always let it stay out for 6months to 1year with few exceptions. If something is going to be hard to find, like the Rohrbaugh R45 that they apparently aren't going to make , then I'll jump on it ASAP.

That picture was posted on ar15.com back in July 2014 and it was named a Glock 42. I doubt very seriously there were pictures of the Glock 43 compared to a Shield floating around in July

this is probably much more accurate

This may be the original source for that image...from back in January of 2014, that is a Glock 42

I too have 2 Springfield double stacks. An XD 5" tactical and XDsc that i used to carry but found the 9mm Colt Defender more to my liking and it fits my "oversize" waist better. My point was just don't consider poly only, some of the metal are outstanding and not that much heavier to make them not worth considering and I still have capacity of 8+1.

I generally wait one year before deciding to purchase a new product. That way they can work the bugs out and all the accessories have a chance to catch up with production.

I have to shoot guns to properly evaluate them...looks, "how it feels" marketing, and the opinions of others do not influence me much.

That sums it up, AFAIC. With my big mitts, I could never shoot the baby Glocks well enough to invest in one. My smallest nine is a Sig P225 and I think that G43 is a significantly smaller grip sized pistol.

I will be passing on the Glock 43.

I already have a dependable single-stack 9x19 that is smaller, lighter, dependable and accurate that has 7 rounds in the mag rather than 6. I have been carrying it since 2007.

Yep. Sums it up pretty well, except he forgot "has a better trigger" and "has a more natural grip angle".

The Glock will sell well. If I get a chance to shoot one, I will, just because I try to keep an open mind.

I can see by the spec sheet that it has nothing compelling to me, and the trigger is my biggest objection. I know it can be "improved", but you can't get rid of the split trigger design, which is a major annoyance to my trigger finger, since I had a mishap which resulted in RH trigger finger mangling/disfigurement about 30 years ago.

A split trigger magnifies the "bite", which is exceptionally painful to my trigger finger.

A Glock that just might fit my hand! There are plenty of fine time tested single stack compact and sub compact nines on the market, GLOCK is a more than a few years late to the party. I will give them an honest look if or when my current single stack 9s crap out. I'm not in any hurry

I don't really see a point of adding another 9mm to the lineup. For some of us with multiple pistols of different sizes for different uses(range, ccw, pocket carry) there really isn't much advantage to the G43.

I picked option 3, because Glocks just don't fit my mitts, but option 2 seems prudent. I usually not the early adopter type for anything.

I just bought the G42 last month with a test fire date of Feb 2015 , pretty quick from manufacture to sale and now it's on its way back !
As stated before a real jammer through various brands of ammo , couldn't get a full mag through it ! Despite the problem I like the gun , would I buy the G43 , yes if not for the fact I have a G26 and G19 . My son is planning on getting the G42 but is also going to wait for the shake down cruise to be over . And I have to say here that my confidence in Perfection at least in new models has been shaken but hope to get it back with my G42 ...

I try to wait 6 months to a year to see what bugs need to be worked out before buying anything.

My one dalliance of not doing that wound up with a Ruger SR-9 going back for a factory recall. Ruger did right by me and fixed the problem. Now I'm sticking to the wait and see approach.

"The G43 is our new single stack, 9mm pistol. The G43 is the most highly desired and anticipated release in GLOCKs history." [GLOCK website]

The 'GLOCK 43 SUBCOMPACT SLIMLINE' is fatter than a Walther PPS and wait for it...fatter than a 45 cal 1911.

Had the G43 come out 15 years ago, it would have been a runaway bestseller, instead that laurel went to the G19, which is arguably the best all round Glock.

I can go to any number of gun stores and find any glock model I want. I find it hard to beleive they can't meet demand. Glock loves to blow themselves and they come off as and extremely arrogant company with slogans like "Glock perfection". Give me a break Glock your guns are nothing special.

I am in the market for a single stack 9mm, and I *might* buy the first reasonably priced G43 I come across. But it would have to feel just as good in my hand as a Shield or XDs. Otherwise, I'm buying one of those two instead.

I voted 'yes' because I love my current Glocks and there's a solid chance I'll soon own a G43.
