I am carrying a G27 right now in a Milt Sparks. Milt Sparks is THE holster maker for me, I have two and I'm getting ready to order another here in a little bit, I got the site up now. Funny thing is, both holster I have, one for a G27 and one for a G29, are the same model, and I'll probably be ordering another just like it for the 1006 I got.
The Milt Sparks holster I'm talking about is the Versa Max 2. I haven't found a better holster, and certainly for the price. You'll be waiting a while once you order it, and you need to order it at a certain time, they only take orders for a few days at the beginning of each month and when a quota is reached they stop taking orders. The VM2 was designed for the HKP7, so you can imagine how well the design works for mini Glocks.
You get this holster and a good gun belt, and get the loops that fit that belt, and you'll have a killer rig. Get the clips if you want to tuck it, they used to come with them but now they sell them separately. This was how they dealt with the recent depression to keep costs down, pretty smart. I have the horsehide ones, but Milt says the cowhide is just as good because of the treatment. But the horsehide is TOUGH and mine get worn daily and look new. I promise you won't find a better holster, and even if you don't like it, you can easily sell it for more than you paid; because of the wait time, some folks are willing to pay double or more for one of these holsters.
For winter carry, I just use the G29 if need be. I prefer a 10mm G29, it has no equal really, but for some reason I've been toting this G27 all year. Both hide equally well. If you want a rig for that G22, again, look at Milt Sparks. I thought about getting a VM2 for a G20SF (that thing is NICE!) but I got the 1006 and it is thinner. Anyway, I started a thread asking how well folks were able to conceal a G20 or 21 IWB and was kind of shocked at how well some of the folks on here pulled it off. You might be able to dig through my profile and find it, there were some pictures too.
Good luck and stay away from junk. Junk holsters are like junk scopes on $1000 rifles, and junk belts are like junk rings on a $1000 rifle and $1000 scope. Great analogy really. You want a good stiff (I prefer soft but double thick) gun belt that won't fold. The holster needs to be a good design and have belt loops that fit the belt nice and snug.
I should mention I got a Bladetech holster for 340PD. It was actually for a 649, but I modified it. Not bad for kydex really, but the loops would not stay buttoned. Unacceptable, so I JB welded them shut. Just be careful what you get, holsters can't usually be returned, and some decent makers turn out junk from time to time. This Bladetech for instance. As for kydex, I also have a Blackhawk Serpa lvl2. This thing is a great plastic holster and that extra retention is nice. It is semi-adjustable and fits nice and close with a good gun belt. I'd get one for the G22 and use interim while wating for Milt Sparks, and then use it for range use, woods, etc.
For my money, Milt Sparks can't be beat. If you have a little more to spare and they offer a rig you really want, Mitch Rosen is great. I think of these two as the best around. Alessi is another one, but I've never seen one.
But again, you can't go wrong with the Milt Sparks, and if you don't like it just sell it on here. Like I said, you will not lose money on this, you actually might make a few bucks. If you get one for the G22 and don't like it, let me know.
All I said comes from years of playing musical holsters. A lot of us carriers have wasted a lot of money trying holsters. Some gave up altogether. Some found a gem. Turns out the VM2 is a gem for a lot of folks, NEVER heard anyone knock one.
