I'm interested in getting a 9mm barrel for practice and plinking with my Glock 22. Does anyone here have experience with a particular manufacturer or vendor they can recommend? I'm also wondering if the barrels are truly "drop-in" or if I'll have to make other modifications.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I own a Fed Ord .40 Short & Weak barrel for a G29. It has worked flawlessly, is perfectly accurate, and was a very attractively priced. You may find more opinions over at Glocktalk.

I hadn't noticed the Fed barrels until you brought them up. If they do make a G22 barrel in 9mm I'll be tempted to get one and put the savings into another in .357 Sig (just because). I'm leaning toward the KKMs though. Brownell's doesn't seem to carry their .40 to 9mm conversion, but I'll check out Topglock.

Thanks for the input.

Check out Lonewolf Distributors. They're BIG into conversion barrels for Glocks. Prices and service are great.

MN_Strelok,
I have a Olympic Arms 9mm conversion barrel for my G31 and with G17 magazines it has been 100% reliable and I've put over 6,000rds through it so far.

Check out Lonewolf Distributors.

I contacted them a while back as I was thinking of doing the same for my G22, they said they work great but should use G17 mags for best results.

The push for the 9mm barrel has slowed though since I started reloading 40s, though I don't fire those in the Glock, so I should get the barrel, probably after the ban expires and I can get some G17 mags cheap.
