The simple truth is that it doesn't matter one bit how long the reset distance is. If you are riding the trigger and feeling for a reset you missed the bus. Reset is all done in recoil and even with a DAO like a Smith or Beretta can be done in very small parts of a second. It should take no more than a tenth and a half of a second to touch the front of the trigger guard and prep the trigger for the next shot, .20 seconds shot to shot won't be very hard with good trigger control.
We worry about lots of things that just don't matter. Makes the hobby more interesting I suppose, and gives us different things to talk about.
