I’m contemplating getting another 10mm Glock. I had one back in the early ‘90’s, but wasn’t real keen on it. Several reasons, but one was the size of the frame.

How much difference is there between the “Short Frame” grip and regular frame. ie: where is the difference and is it significant?

reach to trigger is better and yes it makes a difference. However the large frame 10/45 glocks are still like holding a 2x4.

The Gen 4, G20 has what is essentially an SF frame. They are trimmer than a Gen 3 non-SF frame, but as 1KPerDay mentions, they are still big guns. They are noticeably larger than the G17/G22.

Big difference between the grip size/feel of a standard G20 and a G20SF. I have what I would consider "average" size hands, pistols like BHP, 1911 fit me well, standard Glocks and double column SIGs are on the fat side for me. I have a standard G21 in 45acp and a G20SF and the difference is night and day. While the G20SF is still on the chucky side I can shoot it better than the standard size frame G20.

Gen 4 or SF are very similar. Both large, look at the bright side- they give you backstraps with the gen 4 so you can make it EVEN BIGGER . Which I just don't get. I have large hands and have a gen 4 g20 that feels large but I can reach all controls comfortably, wouldn't bother me if it were smaller either, also have a g30 SF (so not a direct comparison ) but it also is large but comfortable. I find it hilarious that guys who shoot 1911s and like them will have added backstraps to their g21/g20 to big it up some cause they're "big guys" who NEED big grips. Bizzarre . I would just get the gen 4 and shoot it until you've got no money left. You'll love it, I love mine.

Possibly, but it could be they are like me. I used to like small grips (even a standard Gen 19 felt to big to me). It just felt right on many pistols and gave me what felt like a better purchase on the pistol especially shooting single handed. The problem with that is most pistols had the trigger to far back and it left precious little room for good contact with the weak hand. Now I use the biggest back strap on the M&P M2.0 and my trigger reach is correct and the weak side grip has enough room for me to get my support hand in there to make good contact with the pistol. I doubt I would need to go that far on a G20/G21 but I'm sure guys with big enough hands to need it exist.
