It’s a forged stainless frame. I wouldn’t think frame strength would be an issue. There are plastic guns that handle 10mm.

Plastic absorbs. Steel doesn't. The early blue delta elites definitely cracked frames. I have one. My later (2005 ish maybe) stainless delta has been fine.

I have more 10mm 1911 than 45 BUT I don't care for 10 in a 1911 anymore. I'm not selling any.... but for the capacity you may as well carry a 6 shot 44 mag and not worry about it IMHO. 16 rounds of 10mm in a Glock is a lot of gun. (which has been produced the entire time 10mm has been produced and did far more time as a duty gun in 10 than any other). Having had my 220 10mm for a while ive came to the same conclusion as 1911. It does nothing a 6 inch Glock 10 doesn't do for the same weight and more capacity and has done for me for 20 years now. Nothing glamorous about a Glock. But for 10mm I feel it's the platform to have.

Ammo issues yes, a few especially with 220 grain WFN Buffalo Bore. Check out the SIG forum.

I've successfully fed my 195gr WFN handloads in my XTEN without issue...and 5 or 6 other flavors as well, all no issues.

I know the Sig XTEN hasn’t been out long but has there been any reports of reliability issues? Picky ammo appetite?

Can you briefly elaborate? I’m not a Sig Talk forum member and a quick google search didn’t find the thread. Thanks.

I was able to quickly find this quote from the SIG forum, and I've seen a couple of videos where this happened even to Chuke, but on very new guns...might just need a break-in:
"I carry 10mm as my primary woods defense gun - and the go to rounds are usually buffalo bore hardcast or similar in the 200-220 grain weight. Myself and a few friends are having feeding issues with hardcast and the magazines... the rounds bind in the mag if there is more the 7-8 rounds and they won't feed - sometimes they just get stuck and won't pop up. Even not being in the gun, if you manually strip a round, they bind sometimes."
