As I said above, I'm not trying to convince you to get rid of your tritium night sights. I'm merely pointing out that there are other opinions on the subject and what works for MIL/LE is not always what works for the concealed carrier/home defense user.

I do a lot of my dry fire practice in my home with lighting conditions changing depending on the weather and time of day. Like I mentioned in my first post, I'm almost 59 and wear progressive eye glasses. Handgun sights are fuzzy to my eyes. So, I took some photos this morning to emulate my vision capability.

What I deal with in dry fire practice is that many of my gun sights virtually disappear on dark targets. For instance, the dark jacket hung on the lamp in the photos below to represent a human form.

The photos below are at 9 am, outdoor conditions are a cloudless sky and bright sunlight. The blinds are closed in that particular room, but ambient light is plentiful to ID a target. Light is coming from the left front of the gun, so the sights are not well illuminated from the rear. My cell camera doesn't show that I can see the target clearly with my glasses, but does show how the front sights are seen through my eyes.

Folks than can see handgun sights crisply in focus certainly have an advantage over me.
