I have heard that one can install a Wolff reduced power fire pin spring and bring the trigger pull down to around six pounds or a little less when used in conjunction with the NY1 trigger spring and 3.5 connector without affecting reliability.

I have the NY1 and 3.5 connector with stock fire pin spring and the trigger pull weight registers a consistant 7.2 lbs. on my pull scale with no reliability issues.

I would like to know since I really hate monkying around with the spring cups if it isn't going to offer any positive advantage. TIA

Onmilo,
Would you consider dumping the NY1 for a standard spring teamed with a 3.5 connector ? Those results could be nice if you are looking for a light pull. I've grown to like the standard springs versus the NY's. I've shot the above combo for years in company guns but with 8lb. connectors.
Turn your slide firing pin channel up and use it as a fixture when assembling your pin assembly. Place the sleeve w/firing pin installed into the channel pointing up and put the spring on. With the sleeve secured in the channel it's much easier to hold the spring down as you place the two cups and release it slowly. Once together withdrawl it and turn it around for it's correct assembly. Glock continues to instruct this method of assembly in it's armourers course.

This is exactly what you should do. Ditch the NY trigger and just go back to the Standard spring & #3.5 connector. You'l be happy.

Well, actually I wasn't happy with the standard trigger spring, I broke the one on my Model 34 and wanted a longer lasting spring.
The 3.5 with standard spring always felt a bit mushy to me and the NY-1 did produce a more repeatable trigger pull feel.

I am actually fairly happy with the overall feel I am receiving with the 3.5 connector and NY-1 but if I could get a slightly lighter pull weight and maintain reliablity I was willing to give it a try.
Thanks for the responses.

Onmilo,
I've also seen some additional trigger springs out there. Different colors if I remember correctly.
