Glock or HK Help!

Both will be great choices. Per orig post, sounds like you've wanted the HK for a while so I'd go that direction.

A friend has the vp9 and the mags are expensive if you can find them.

Also, trigger slap can be an issue with them. I coundnt shoot a couple of mags through it with out my finger killing me. Three other guys had the same problem. He did correct the problem but it required disassembling the pistol and taking a dremel to the frame.

Other than that its a great pistol the is very accurate. The PPQ might be worth a look too.

Just an update. I ended up buying the VP9. But here's the kicker. Due to a local distributor I know, I ended up getting the VP9 for $560 out the door! Later that night I was browsing Armslist and a Beretta 950 Jetfire popped up for sale (mint cond) ended up walking away with it for $180 with 100 rounds of fmj! Forgot how much I loved these little guns.

far superior trigger than ANY glock

That's your opinion. I prefer any stock Glock trigger to the VP9's I've tried. Glocks fit me better as well (not just grips, balance, point, trigger, feel, etc).

Were it me I'd get the 17, but probably not a Kel-Tec.

Sounds like you got a good deal though, so I hope you enjoy it!

Not so sure about that and not sure why it would be a huge concern.

The VP9 uses the same mag as the P30. Yeah, they're a little expensive. Generally they run in the $35 range. Lately they've been very hard to get ahold of due to the runaway success of the VP9. But I expect they'll get caught up before long. Luckily for me I have a good amount of them since I've have a few guns that use that mag.;)

the aftermarket for glocks can get you a very nice trigger (for a striker gun)
I have the full zev unit in my g17 . 2.8lbs , crisp from reset, no over travel, little take up

not to mention different weight recoil springs available.

im not sure whats out there for hk.

The Hk VP9 (VP40?) has a big void at the top, back of the grip. Your hand sinks further into it. Make sure your hand fills that up and maintains good contact. And the VP9 is as good s it's ever going to get. You can't upgrade the trigger like you can on a Glock. The Glocks trigger feels worse stock, but works better than the VP9's for me. It's easy to fix the Glock trigger.

Advantage Glock. Get a G19,G23, G22, G17, G40, G41.

Cheaper guns are great. They give access to shooting that otherwise might be missed.

But quality is the way to go if you can afford it.

In our wonderful state with the 10 round limit the mags are nearly 60 bucks! My buddy couldnt find any for months. Why it matters? Some people like to have extra mags!!!

Just giving some feedback from actual experience for someone who was looking for information!

Whats your point?

If I were in your shoes I would get the HK. The Kel Tec doesn.t cost all that much and you could save up for it. They are always available.

I've had the good fortune of shooting several Glocks as well as shooting and owning two H&K's. 9mm and 40.

In one word I can explain why I purchased the H&K's over the Glocks; triggers!

The triggers on both my H&K's are clean and crisp, no creep, no nonsense. When you shoot a firearm and have confidence in the piece, the way it feels, fits and shoots, it gives you an edge, better known as confidence. The Glocks simply don't have the refined trigger you find on a H&K.
