Hi All
Lets say if I have a Glock 21 SF (Gen 3 I think). Could I swap the top end off a Glock 20 and the mag and shoot 10mm with it? Or is the SF frame dimensionally different then the frame of the Glock 20?

Thanks
WB

SF frame simply means it’s a bit shorter grip. The slides are the same for SF and non SF Gen 3 Glocks.

Since the base diameter of 10mm is less than that of .45ACP, there may be a difference in ejectors. Conceivable Glock may have used the same for both. I don't have a way to compare. Need to check that carefully before hand.

There are two trigger housings for Glock 10mm and 45 ACP pistols listed on the official parts order forms I have. Now this will change to three different trigger housings now that Gen 5 G20 and Gen 5 G21 pistols are available.

For anything other than Gen 5 the part numbers are as follows:
  • 8203 Trigger Mechanism Housing w/ 8196-2 ejector installed - fits G20, G21, G29, G30, G30S, G36
  • 5406 Trigger Mechanism Housing w/ 8196-2 ejector installed - fits G20SF, G20Gen4, G21SF, G21Gen4, G29SF, G30SF, G30S, G30Gen4, G36FGR, G41Gen4
Note that both use the same ejector which is marked 8196-2. Also with Glocks official parts order form, if the generation is not stated, then the part is for Gen 3 pistols. They always state if the part is for the SF, S, Gen 4 or Gen 5.

A complete Gen G21 slide and complete Gen 3 G20 slide can be used on the same Gen 3 frame without issues.

There is also some conversion/adaptation possible with long slides on short frames, etc. Lone Wolf sells adapters for this, but you'll need to do a bit of research on what will work with what.

I am not familiar enough with the compact and sub compact version in 10mm/45ACP. so you will need to check the locking blocks and barrel locking lugs to see if they are the same or different.

When it comes to 9mm/40S&W pistols. you can NOT use a G17/22 barrel on a G19/23 frame since there is a difference in the locking block and locking lugs when it comes to Gen 1-4 pistols.
