i finally got a glock after years of saying i wouldn't get a plastic gun. it's a 26. got it to try out for a carry gun. i must say it's better than i thought it would be. now i want to get a full size one to see what they're like. even my wife who said she'd NEVER get a plastic gun now wants one. all those years of prejudice against plastic guns just went down the tubes. i wonder how many we'll end up with?

I have four Glocks and counting. Occasionally I have to fight the urge to buy more. :D
 
My dad was like that until he tried my Glock 19. He still prefers full size steel pistols (like the Beretta 92 and 96), but he finally admitted that Glock makes a pretty decent pistol.
 
Glocks are certainly nice reliable guns, but having shot some, I realized they are not for me. I prefer aluminum/alloy frames, external hammers, manual safeties, decockers, and SA triggers. :D
 
I have fired almost every Grock made, except the 18, and the 45GAPs. I still would rather carry my CZ 75 PO1. That's the beauty of the USA - lots of choices for everone!

I've always thought I'd never own Glock. They just don't appeal to me at all. However, I recently got tired of the Kel-Tec 3AT issues I've been having, and started looking at the sub-compact Glocks. After comparing them to the Kahr PM9's, it was no contest. The PM9 is the gun Glock SHOULD have made.

so they should have made a pistol essentially the same size as their 26 but made sure it only held 6 rounds?

you know, i had the glock prejudice (or more accurately polymer prejudice) thing too 'till i got tired of carrying full-size steel or aluminum frame .45s because that's what all the experts said was "enough gun." bought a 27, then i bought a 23, then i bought a 22. i carry the 23 always and usually the 27 as well. i am stuck on glock now. sure there are alot of other pistols out there and i'll buy more but i won't carry anything else in the near future. finally found something that really, truly works.
 
That Glock 26 is an excellent weapon. Mine is quite unbelievably accurate and reliable as a brick. Totally affordable and easy to pack. I still prefer 1911s, but it's more of a pride of ownership thing; despite the 9mm vs. .45ACP controversy I still feel plenty well armed with the 26.
 
I love Glocks and own 3. I love my BHP in 40 and my CZ-97b, too. I'm glad guns are not like women because I fall in love with all of them too easily. :D
 
I also had Glock and/or polymer prejudice until I actually had an opportunity to shoot a 19 and a 23. I then bought a 23 in .40 S&W through which I have put over a thousand rounds without a single bobble. It is my preferred cary gun and I even store it in the safe with my 1911s, my Sigs, and my Browning HP. So far there have been no complaints from the other occupants in the safe.

Had a Glock 19 for 11 years. Shot the hell out of it and it NEVER FAILED, and I still don't like it. Just a personal thing I guess. I STILL DON'T LIKE PLASTIC.

I've owned several Glocks...a 21, 23, 36 & currently a 19. I had the 21 kb in my hands (ouch!) & really didn't like the 23 or the 36. I didn't get over my plastic prejudice until I started shooting HK USPs :D Now, we're all one big happy family w/ HK's & Glocks living together in harmony! :cool:

Its not too late, sell em immediatly, take two teaspoons of common sence and buy a STEEL gun.

i've been glocked

tried it out today. about 60 rounds(got rained out) of mixed wwb and umc hollowpoints and round nose. nary a problem with the gun. maybe i got a problem though. it felt great in my hand, and after i got used to the trigger i just pointed it and it hit within a half inch of where i aimed it. i've never had that happen before. looks like i gotta buy another one for the wife and a couple of sets of night sights for them, and then try one of the full sized ones. oh well, it's only money and it's for a good cause, guns and ammo!!.lol.

I'm on my 3rd Glock now, which is a G22. My first Glock was a G30. My second was a G27. I sold the G27 to my former boss because (gulp) I didn't think I needed two guns of different calibers (just more ammo to buy I told myself). I later sold my G30 so I could buy my G22. I wish like everything that I still had BOTH of those guns (AND my G22...which is my carry gun). :banghead:

I've owned, shot and carried so many guns I've lost count. I still own about 40 guns, half rifles and half pistols. I swore I'd never own a foreign made plastic pistol until the day I bought a police turn Glock 22 on a whim at a local gunshow. Within a month that became my main defensive pistol, replacing a Sig P220 that I've had for years. Shortly after that I bought a Glock 26 and it replaced a plethora of different concealment pistols, including a S&W 3913, a Kel-Tec P40 and a Kahr PM9. The Glock 26 is, in my opinion, the best small concealment pistol I've ever shot or carried. Say what you like about Glocks, but they work and do exactly what they're designed to do.
 
I've always had a prejudice against Glocks from the time they came out. I just didn't like the way they looked or felt and was never too big on the trigger safety. All of this was without ever firing one. Then when I took my CHL class recently, I realized that my prejudice was justified. I shot about 50 rounds through a compact Glock 9mm. I hate the way they feel, I hate the grip, I hate the trigger, and whether it was because I wasn't used to the trigger or this particular gun was just off, it was shooting low to the left every dang time.

I'll stick to my mostly metal guns that have real safeties (to me) and feel more natural.
