Perhaps the long anticipated Glock Single Stack 43 will be announced?

That third image. Other than being photoshopped and not officially released by Glock, I'd say that pretty much confirms it.

Well I was beat to the punch once again ....

Darn!
:cuss:
Really, it's good to see Glock USA finally set up/release a new sub-compact/carry 9x19mm semi auto pistol.
I will give this new pistol about 10mo/12mo to see if it has any recalls or feeding-cycle problems but it looks good. :D
I did notice Glock didn't add a 1913 rail or modify the frame but other sub compact .380acp & 9mm/.40S&W do okay without rails so I guess it's not a big deal.
The new Glock 43 does look like its a Gen 04 format which Im very interested in.

I can't imagine how many little 9s they'll sell if they indeed release such a thing. I know where one is going.

Glock 42 .380acp prices ....

In my metro area, Glock 42 pistols run around $399.00-$419.00 USD.
I doubt Glock will delete the .380acp sub compact but it may sell for lower than $400.00(NIB).

If it is a single stack 9mm, I don't think it will affect the price or availability of the G42.

This forum has very vocal members that believe everybody wants the most powerful round they can fit in the smallest frame you can find. They might be surprised that not everybody agrees with them, and some people will appreciate the lighter recoil and easier shooting 380.

Yes, a single stack 9mm will sell well, and is a great idea, but it will not kill off the G42.

I dunno. The "This Spring" ad either implies it or is designed to let you imagine whatever you want to see.;) On one hand it's surprising they didn't release one years ago. But since they didn't I'm not sure how important they think it is.

I've said this before- and maybe here at THR- but I think a single stack Glock would be a lot like an iPhone or whatever gadget Apple cooks up next. Regardless of the merits or demerits of the design a million people will probably buy one right away. By the same token there are lots of Glock haters (which I sadly must reluctantly number myself among) that won't buy one if they're released at $99.99 each.

Let me qualify this by saying that I have no interest if the SS Glock retains the same blocky ergos, impossible takedown tab and spongy trigger of the regular Glocks. I feel my Beretta Nano is superior to a Glock in every way, and the same is probably true of the PPS, Shield and maybe even the BP9CC. So while I don't begrudge the Glockies their Kool-Aid fix I'll probably pass.:D But if they address all the things I hate about their guns I'll give the new one a look.

I'm sure it it will sell well. I handled the 42, and it felt great for a Glock. That said, I'm not a Glock guy. My Nano or a Shield would suit me better.

Still, at the right price I might pick one up in a couple years if they release it in .40. I am certainly eating crow about decrying the merits of the single stack polymer pistol in a caliber greater than .380.

If the only place that was found was GlockTalk, it's still just rumor as far as I'm concerned. Where's that Glock carbine they keep talking about? Or the Glock 1911 they showed pics of?

Believe 10% of what you read on the Internet, and even less if it's a gun forum.

I want to get a pocket pistol of some kind. My 19 is too big to carry comfortably in a front pocket. The 42 is an option. I am going to shoot several models before making a decision.

Could be a carbine..........

Well if it is a single stack design, with decent downsized dimensions, it could possibly be the first Glock 9mm. that I can get a comfortable grip with it. Will have to wait and see.

MY Opinion >>>>>>>

Is.... **IF** Glock comes out with a single stack 9mm the size as the 42 /.380, then about 90% of the people will complain that the recoil hurts their little girly hands; yadda yadda yadda. God Bless :)

My G26 is too thick to comfortably pocket carry, but my wife's G42 pocket carries easier than my J-frame Smith Model 60.

Brilliant marketing campaign. Sold a train car load of the model 42 and in doing so strengthened the yearning for a single stack 9mm. Next comes the very simple "This Spring" ad and all the gun forums are bubbling over with free-to-Glock advertising. Absolutely brilliant marketing strategy.

Obviously somebody at Glock is a "Twilight Zone" fan and watched (and remembered) "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" episode. You don't actually need to do anything most of the time ... just implant an idea and watch the pot stir itself.

If indeed the single stack 9mm IS the idea being implanted, we'll take a brace of them to keep our 42s from being lonely.

A single stack 9mm that holds 6ish rounds geared for pocket carry.......BORING!!!!!! They are about 10 years late, and the market has plenty of options.

Make it in .357sig and I'm interested. Do something cool, not just follow the trends that are not even trends anymore.

I'd like to see them make something with a real for sure DAO trigger so one could carry a Glock in one's pocket without shooting one's...um..."body parts" off:eek:

"Confidence ... Fits every lifestyle" is a broad statement that could be 9mm, 40S&W or 45ACP.

I am more "confident" with my G27 than G26. ;)

I hope it's 40S&W so I could use 9mm conversion barrel. :D

If it's 9mm, I will be happy too.

The shield is available in 9 or .40, and is roughly the size (but not thickness) of a G26/27/33.

I suppose that if you single stack a G26, maybe shrink it slightly so the slide length is between a G26 and a G42, you could probably make it in 9, .40. and .357 Sig.

G43, G44, and G45?

Don't get me wrong -- I don't think a single-stack Glock 9mm would kill the G42, but it might slow its sales down some, enough for there to be some good prices (I hope) from dealers wanting to clear some shelf space for the hot new item.

I would still want a 42. I think I have my "pocket 9" needs covered with a Nano and an LC9s Pro. As I get older and creakier, light-recoiling pistols appeal to me more and more.
