I bought a police trade-in Glock 22 recently. I've had it to the range once and hated the trigger. I've shot S&W Sigma's that felt better. It took real effort to get it to break and threw my aim off.
I was told that it probably had a New York trigger in it. If that is the case, I understand all those reports about police shootings where 30-40 shots were fired and the perp was only wounded.
Anyway, I may be in the market for a better trigger. I'm not looking for a hair trigger, like you would use in competition, just something that breaks without using both hands on the trigger.
Any suggestions about products I should look into, any to avoid? I really do appreciate the good advice that is so common on this forum.
Thanks in advance.

Get the Ghost Tactical connector, (I thought the Rocket sucked) use the DS cut on their website, just make sure the cut angle stays very slight.

Do the 25 cent trigger job.

You can also keep NY trigger parts for certain trigger builds. An olive NY-1 spring plus a 3.5# connector will give you something close to a Kahr trigger. An increased power (competition) trigger spring plus an 8# NY connector plus a tiny bit of dremeling from the trigger bar will give you a huge amount of takeup followed by a crisp, 1/16" break that actually rivals a mil-spec 1911.

I also bought a former police G22 with the same setup. Start by replacing the NY spring with a factory original. It only costs a couple bucks, takes 10 minutes, and makes a world of difference. After that, decide if you want to keep spending. You might, I ended up with a Vanek trigger.

what part do you dremel?

I replaced several parts on my Glock 21 and have a superb 3-3.5 lb trigger. It would be a little light for a carry/duty weapon, but it can be restored to original configuration in minutes. Plus, different combinations of the parts will give a range of pulls. Here is what I replaced, all ordered from Brownell's (shock buff & polished, hardened guide rod aren't players in trigger pull, but I prefer them, having tried & compared with factory):

SKU: 861-119-035 3.5 pound TRIGGER CONNECTOR Mfr:SCHERER
SKU: 965-000-047 SHOCK BUFF FOR GLOCKS
SKU: 969-501-000 50100 GLOCK 20 & 21 GUIDE ROD
SKU: 642-102-017 LS2024 LG GLOCK TITANIUM SAFETY PLUNGR
SKU: 969-161-610 16161 GLOCK RP STRIKER SPRING, EACH

Someone may have put a NY1 or even a NY2 trigger spring in it.

The "New York" (New York State Police, BTW) spring is on the bottom, the standard coil spring on top. If that is the case and there were no other modifications, swap a standard coil spring in to get the standard 5.5# pull. It is still a little "mushy" and "sproingy" with some overtravel, but this has never bothered me.
