I rented a few 9mm guns at the range today.

wow.. talk about different trigger pulls.

the Glock26 and SR9 had short length trigger pulls, which i loved. pull trigger back a hair and feel resistance. pull back a little more and it fires.

m+p9c, XDsc, Taurus 24/7, Sig P239 had medium length trigger pulls. i had to pull back the trigger around 1/2 way before i felt any resistance.

THe Taurus PT111 was weird. 1st shot was like a medium length trigger pull. all subsequent shots i had to pull the trigger almost all the way back to fire?

Is that the function of wat type of gun it is?
ie: SA, DA, DAO?

And what other guns have a similiar trigger as the Glock/SR9?

Try a Polish P-64

with a superhuman DA, but in SA, it has a crisp and VERY light pull, it's better than some 'target' triggers I have felt.

Single-action triggers (e.g., 1911), other than perhaps a very short takeup, will have the "shortest" actions, followed by pretensioned striker systems (a form of DAO, e.g., Glock), with the longest being DA or DAO.

I agree the P-64 has a very nice (single action) trigger pull. And after you find the right recoil spring they can be fun to shoot.

To the OP. If you can find a Steyr M series pistol and are lucky enough to get a chance to shoot it, you will find a really nice short take up and let off. In my view it the nicest shooting polymer striker fired gun on the market. They just suffer in America from terrible marketing.

Don't put the length of trigger pull too high on the priority list because trigger work can always be done to make a gun that you would have rejected for this reason a lot better.

Walther P99 AS has a short striker pull when cocked, or a nice long dual-action pull when not cocked.
