I was shooting over the weekend using my old B-series Glock26 and a new H-series Glock19. My newer G19 is a Gen3 pistol with a different slide finish from my older G26. The finish is darker and not as smooth as in the older G26.

After shooting 100 rounds each in both pistols, my friend comes over and handles both guns. He then notices how hotter the slide of the newer G19 is compared to the older G26. Time difference being inconsequential because I had been shooting them side by side. Is there a difference in material construction of the newer Glock slides from the older models?

Thanks

It's still the same Tenifer, but on top of the Tenifer I like the new finish better, it holds up to holster wear longer than the old style matte finish.

If you weren't firing them at the exact time than time difference is important. If you fired the G19 last the slide will be hotter. Also it depends if you were in the sun or the shade. They get really hot if they're in the sun.

Enjoy your new G19, it'll give you the same flawless performance as your G26.
