Depending on month to month finances and just what comes up available, I hope to acquire in 2006...

In no particular order...

S&W SB 4" Model 651
S&W RB 4" Model 651
Ruger SP101 4" Full Lug .22 LR
Ruger SP101 4" Half Lug .22 LR
Ruger SP101 3 1/6" .9 MM
Ruger SP101 2 1/4" DAO .357 Magnum

With luck, I'll accomplish my mission! What's on your short list?

Getting married in Fall '06 all free money is going to pay for the wedding. I was planning on purchasing a .44 Magnum Redhawkand a M 37 4" S&W with my tax return but that will have to wait awhile.

Charby

A dedicated 1911 22 LR
Maybe a 642

Most of the I buy something used because I think its a decent deal even if it wasn't anywhere on my list. I bought 3 or 4 this year that I wasn't planning on just because they were local FTF.

Remington 11-87P
Springfield Armory stainless full-size 1911
Gemtech Trinity 9mm suppressor
9mm SBR (5") AR15 upper

Goals

Purchase 2 handguns.
a 9MM for carry and target
a .22 for target practice mostly.

Get my CCW and research other classes to take.

Try to get to the range at least twice a month.

An AWC Thundertrap for .308.

Integrally suppressed Ruger .22 pistol -- still vague on which one.

S/F

My goal for next year is to put several thousand rounds through the 6 handguns I bought this year:

Ruger GP-100, 4" blued, .357
Ruger SP-101, 2" DAO, .357
Ruger 22/45, 4", .22LR
Smith & Wesson 10-5, .38 special
Smith & Wesson 10-8, .38 special
Sig Sauer 226, 9mm

When I can afford another splurge, I suppose I need to get one of those .357 Mag carbines, and a .45 of some sort, and a 642, and a pocket pistol...

My goals (firearm wise):
Get H&R 622 out of lay-a-way(immediate).
Purchase- a 12 gauge shotgun (had pump actions in past* may get a O/U), a new rifle in either .308 (already have a LE 2A1, 7.62 X 51 Nato) or .30/06 and another .357 Mag Revolver (4" barrel).

*My last 12 ga was sold to a friend who moved from Houston to New Orleans a couple years ago only to come back to Houston as an evacuee. He wanted to go back to work on his mother's house near N. O. and needed protection. None of the gunstores around the Houston area could get clearence from the Feds to sell to anyone with a N. O. drivers license  , all firearm transactions were on hold. All I had was my 12 Savage 67H pump, my Rossi 20ga/.223 Rem Combo gun, and my Yugo SKS. He wanted a repeating shotgun so a fair price was worked out and he went back to LA to rebuild with some protection (threw in a couple boxes of buckshot).

BTW the SKS was my SHTF gun during Hurricane Rita, all the homes around my house are older construction (like mine) and anything short of a round from the main gun on a tank would barely touch them.

For 2006

If I'm lucky, I'll get one or two this year. Top 6 items on my list are:

Remington 870 Express HD 12 ga.
Ruger Mk II/III .22 LR
Glock 20 10mm
FN Patrol .308 Win
SIG Sauer P229 .357 SIG
Glock 26 9mm

S&W .38 snubbie, whichever model I find at a decent price.
.22lr conversion unit for my Glock 26
GP100 4" .357 or maybe a New Vaquero in .357.
.308 bolt rifle. Not sure on make/model yet.

I'll probably only get one or two of those this year.

On my list for 2006......a reload set-up for 45ACP and probably 44 mag and another safe. Guns?.....Hmmmm.....usually ends up being whatever I can find a good deal on and if it tickles my fancy or not. I just placed an order for a new Colt XSE Lightweight Commander as my first purchase for 2006. It will arrive on Tuesday. I have no plans of any other guns in 2006.

Well, I have a 10/22, Marlin Model 60, SLR-95, Rem 700, M1 Garand, PTR-91, Rem 870, (2) G-19's and a G-21, what I want is..........well, nothing :).

Kimber 1911 style 22 pistol (new)
Savage Model 114 Rifle with Walnut Stock; not decided on caliber (new)
Probably a couple impulse purchases-Colt or S&W revolvers.

I sorta have the hots for a Ruger SP101 3" .357 magnum, but I think I'll just hit some gun shows this year if I get a little money in my pocket and see what moves me. I'm looking to maybe find some used Smiths, maybe. I want that SP101, though, so we'll see, but it'll probably have to be used cause I'm not rich right now.

Ruger SP101 4" Full Lug .22 LR
Ruger SP101 4" Half Lug .22 LR
Ruger SP101 3 1/6" .9 MM

Good luck on those! The 9mm has been discontinued for quite awhile now, and usually commands a slight premium price. Ruger just announced discontinuing the .22 SP101 guns, so get them before they're gone!

I have a DOA 2 1/4 I use for CCW. Love it.

About the only thing I might pick up handgun-wise this year is a CZ75 in 40. Just saw one of the new stainless ones....that could be it if it comes out in .40...

Funny you should start this thread as I was just thinking about this very subject today.

First of all, I know I will NOT be able to accomplish all my firearms goals in 2006 alone. Here's my list of probable next purchases, but it's flexible and more long term than just this new year. They are firearms that have made my list for a variety of reasons and I'd like to have them all for my collection eventually and for most, there's no particular order:

*Custom built left-handed .50cal PA longrifle in flintlock, made just for me.
*Kimber CDP
*Glock 30 OD green
*Benelli semi-auto shotgun
*Ruger SP101 .357 mag
*.22 mag pistol
*.22 mag or hornet rifle (depends)
*.22 Cricket (for my son when he's a little older)
*.45 Colt Peacekeeper

*plus......more ammo, a few quality holsters for the new handguns and the ones I currently own and a gun safe.

4" S&W model 19 in 99% condition
CZ 75 Compact
Interested in the NAA .32 mag revolver I have heard about.

For 2006, all I want is:

Guns: Just a stainless Sig P232 .380 (I was hooked after shooting one)

Accessories: Surefire X200B weaponlight for the G19

Holsters: Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment IWB (on order) for my G19, same for the Sig when I get it. Maybe an El Paso Saddlery "Patton" holster for the G19 or Sig.

Miscellaneous: A safe. Stock up on high-quality ammo.

:D First "SCORE" of the year. A 1992 LNIB RUGER SP101 3" .9mm
What a satisfying feeling too as I did a face to face trade in a "GUN HATING" K-Mart parking lot! LOL
