going to look into a sling for my 590a1

I have the 3-dot A1. It has a tacstar sidesaddle and a Max100 extension that runs flush with the end of the 18.5" barrel.


What sling setup would you guys recommend? I'm a bigger guy. I can screw a sling swivel into the end of the extension if need be. I want something I can rely on and be mobile with if the need be.

A plain old GI silent sling mounted on QD swivels is a good start IMHO.

I am also need a sling and Lee's comment jogged my memory. Hey, I own a sling! But I can't figure out how I would get it onto the QD swivels. What I have is this (the sling):

How would I attach that to this (or any QD swivel)?

I guess I can loop the leather strips thru the swivel but it seems like some extra junk rattling around. Do the rings on QD swivels come out so that you can attach them to this kind of sling where the sling ends are sewn onto rings?

I'm very partial to the Latigo sling from Brownells. It is a combination carry/shotting sling that would have very little practical use as a shooting sling on a defensive shotgun. But the beauty of it is that it can be chinched up tightly in one motion so that it isn't hanging up on stuff, and lossened up just as quickly to sling on the shoulder. Really you just pull on one of the loops to adjust. Kinda expensive compared to a single point sling, but the tan leather one is gonna look sweet on an 870 Police with walnut stock!
