My girlfriend is curious about what people on THR are doing on Valentine's Day:

Are you going to the range with your significant other, fiancee, or wife on Valentine's Day?
Are you taking/renting any thing special?
Do you still have to buy flowers or is some ammo and a new gun just as romantic?

Here are my answers:

Yes (it was her suggestion)
New Ruger 10/22 with Hogue stock and Bushnell 3-9x scope
Yes I still have to buy flowers

maybe...wife just bought me a new 45/70 marlin lever carbine for valentines......she just don't know it yet.:D

My anniversary is 2/11. (tomorrow:)). Two years ago we did go to the local indoor range. My wife keeps a Creative Memories book of what we did each year to celebrate. When she shows the book to friends we get the "you went shooting on your anniversery?" question. Few questions come up about restaurants or even the cruise that one year.

I wish I could take my girl to range but alas she's back home!
Guess I suppose I'll just have to have my 91/30 keep me company

My friend is picking up his new to him shotgun on the 14th! My last infatuation with a girl(you don't want to know), her birthday is that day also! I don't have a valentine this year so I'll probably just go with my buddy to pick up the shotgun. No shotgun weddings in my near future:)although my friends sister is very cute:) I think she is going with us to try out the shotgun at the range!

I am taking my best girl to the range. She may not be the prettiest girl at the ball, but boy can she dance. She is Kathy, my MIM 1956 Colt 1911.

No range time on V-Day. She's awesome and does go to the range with me but will likely appreciate my discretion in buying her flowers and taking her out for a nice evening dinner.

I am going to the range on v-day...but going by myself during the day. Taking out the "new" M44, I haven't shot it yet.

My wife and I actually don't celebrate Valentine's Day, we think it's a scam. And yes we've been together a long time and yes it is difficult when Feb 14 falls on a tuesday and all we want to do is go out for dinner just because and every place is super busy.

However, I am taking some vacation to get things done around the house so I am cooking up some good steaks and opening a really good bottle of wine I have been saving. But I would have done that whether it was Feb 14 or 15 or 16...

MD...AWESOME response! :D

Something (with all due respect sir) about 'definitely not shooting blanks comes to mind' :neener: couldn't resist!

She gets a card on the 14th.
Then this weekend is one of the bigger shows in my area.
Gonna do what I've done for the last 2 years, take her, let her pick out her own.
Doesn't matter tho, she STILL wants to shoot mine!

Yeah, I'll probably head over to the range to celebrate Single's Awareness Day, S.A.D. for short, which happens to fall on the same day. Who knows, I might meet a single girl there, lol.

I'm single so while all you suckers are out enjoying meaningful relationships and spending time with loving partners, I'll be putting my new Beretta 92FS through the paces.

Wait a minute... :(

That is the exact reason why my wife and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. Before we met each other, we were always single on Feb 14th and always felt like crap because of it. So once we started dating/got married we boycotted the day.

I will enjoy my time at the range during the day though :) Still have some .45 Colts to load up.

I'm going to class. Thain is staying home with the kid. But we go to a CPL class together this past weekend. We'll save our fun day-long range outings for spring/summer.

I'll be working, nightshift as usual. But next weekend I'm taking my wife to Chili's (her first visit there...she specifically requested it after seeing the countless commercials. She immigrated here back in September, and I haven't taken her there yet.)

She did promise to let me take her to the range in spring though :).
