Going to the range with a new GF today. We will take her camera and attempt to get some pix. So far she is a keeper as far as all my female friends go.:D She wants to learn about firearms but has limited experience with them presently. She is real smart and a fast learner I find, so today will be FUN.:D

As much as i am for the g/f shooting.

PLEASE have her focus on keeping the barrel down range instead of focusing on the pictures.

Maybe don't take the camera out after she gets comfortable and confident in shooting first.

not trying to be a buzz kill... honest... but the amount of muzzle sweep Ive seen due to ALL genders and ages worrying about the camera is amazing.

That being said, Post pics when your done :) LOL

SHE wants to get my mug on the cam. She was threatening to get me the other day and I will give her the chance.:D It takes video also. Remember 4 rules--4 rules--4 rules--------;)

Remove all ammunition from the premesis for picture taking purposes. You don't need a distraction while teaching someone with a loaded gun. Post pictures afterwards for us all to see :)

Hello friends and neighbors // Sounds great have fun be safe.

If it were me I'd take:
An old T-shrit with a high collar and a baseball cap or suggest she wear one. If you are shooting semi-autos hot brass can get caught in loose shirts or on top of eyeglasses. I know a range master with a brass burn on his forehead, that would surely ruin her day.

Double ear protection helps get them back again as much as sticking to .22shorts and lr.

Hope all goes as planned.

When you learned to shoot, how did that go? Be sure to give her the same experience. Let her shoot and don't talk. Don't give "pointers," don't lecture, don't instruct, don't criticize, don't be a "teacher." Let her shoot and have fun. The four rules are all she needs to know, first time out.

Good news and bad news!!! Sorry the camera was not working.:banghead: We started with the .22 and basic instructions/range rules. then on to 38 SPL and last the Ruger 9mm.:D She shoots better than I do. No more FUN than most of a day spent at the range.:neener: Already asked me to do it again soon, as soon as the brass is reloaded.:D

I'm glad she likes shooting.:)

I really enjoy teaching females to shoot. They usually do pick it up very fast.

My girlfriends and later my Wife could outshoot all my male friends.

I once had two days to teach a friend's Wife to shoot and at the end of the second day she could outshoot my friend, who had been shooting for years.

Hello friends and neighbors // Sounds like a great day, Congrats.

My friends wife outshoots me with her Ruger single six.
My 14 year old sister loves shooting .22s and the Star 9mm she is getting better.
I remember when my GF first shot my Ruger .44 Redhawk, 7 1/2" , she complained about the weight more than the recoil, I was impressed for sure.
