So I took my gf to the range while it was about 35 degrees and 40 mph winds. This was a few months ago. She shot 1 round out of every gun (12g, 20g, was just a trap day) and wasn't too thrilled. Then next time she shot some handguns (9mm, .38 special, .45ACP) and then my Marlin 60 .22.

Now she asks when we're going shooting next! She LOVES the .22. She'll shoot 200-300 rds every trip, and with very little coaching, but much safety teaching first, manages to tear a center of the target out.

She wants her own .22, and often requests to look at them at the local sporting goods stores.

And she never shot anything besides a BB-gun before this, and she's now signed up on this website.:D

Looks like I got a keeper:p

its nice having a gf that you can shoot with. my GF loves shooing with me. Gotta teach her son some more on how to shoot safely and such. more with my bolt action 22, (cant miss lol target rifle so it makes him happy when he shoots the center out of the target).
my GF likes shooting the bigger things. likes shooting the black poweder guns to. so thats good. its nice having something like that both of you can do and enjoy.

Uh . . . read my sig

Act quickly. I did not marry my wife for just these reasons mind you. There is a lot more to her than racing cars, shooting guns and doing 4x4 stuff together. She has always been my best friend, biggest supporter and more fun than box of puppies. :D
Take lots of pictures. Later on they will make you think back and have warm feelings all over again.

My girlfriend wants to learn how to shoot a pistol well. I would consider myself lucky if it weren't for the increased ammo costs.

Gooseberi started with a Ruger Mark II, bought a Kahr CW9 and lusts after my SigP220. The .22 is just the beginning.

Awesome. I've just introduced my GF to the joys of tennis ball destruction and she's quite enthusiastic. Her first time out, i handed her the scope rem 597 and she nailed a tennis ball 3 times in a row @ 80yards in the first mag. Had no problems hitting tennis balls at 10 yards with the .22 pistol (buckmark) first magazine, and even hit them a couple times with a .40cal beretta (which she loved to shoot but was admittedly intimidated by). She ended up firing the .40 more than i did :D

I'll get pics this weekend ;)

i am getting him into doing some art projects with me, i am thinking a paint can or two, a wooden box, and a few guns, besides my paintball project which i am still working on.

Women are definately the future of the gun industry. Most gun magazines have articles geared towards women and many adds from companies that have developed special items, such as holsters, for women. I have gone to the NRA convention the last 2 years, with my wife of course, and have been very pleased about the number of women there. I am also glad that more and more women are going to the various forums, like this one, to learn and share. I feel lucky that my wife likes to shoot and is interested in guns.
