I just finished looking at the new SIG website and I decided to look at the P250 collection and what do I find but they are only showing one model of the P250 left, a compact version in 22lr:

So it seems that Sig is discontinuing the P250 series. I am not surprised given the great success of the P320 series. I have a subcompact version that I like a lot but I too am thinking about getting a P320 version because they can be fired much quicker than the double action only P250.

Not to worry for all who have P250s because they use the same mags and grip modules as the P320. Even some of the fire control modules parts are the same. I had to replace the slide control lever because I bent my old one and the ones for the P320 fit the P250 just fine.

Anyone else have a P250?

I dug around on the site earlier today and there is a kinds of things missing I hope it's just site issues.

Why would any one care if the P250 is discontinued or not? It has a terrible trigger not worthy of Sig and the P320 was always meant to replace it. They are so similar all the grip frames and x-caliber conversions fit both.

I got a P250 after a P320. The P320 has a great trigger for a striker-fired gun; it is good enough to encourage the development of poor trigger control habits. Whenever I start getting sloppy shooting SA on DA/SA pistols, I spend some time shooting DA to refresh my trigger control. The P250 serves the same function for the P320 - the same gun with a more challenging trigger to hone my trigger control skills.

The P250 has also replaced my DA/SA SIGs for nightstand duty since both my wife and I can use the P250. My wife can't reliably pull the 10-lb. DA triggers of the DA/SA SIGs, but the 6-lb. P250 trigger is no problem. She also prefers the longer, deliberate trigger pull needed to fire the P250 over the P320's shorter trigger pull in a home defense situation.

I've been thinking about picking one of these up. What do you think is going to happen with prices? Will they go up as P250s become harder to find, or go down as dealers try to unload them to clear up shelf space?

I think many have anticipated the discontinuation of the P250 ever since the P320 was introduced, and there have been some very attractive deals on new P250s for that last year or so. I expect there might be some even better deals for a short while until dealers clear out the new-old stock. After that happens, it is hard to say where prices in the used P250 market will wind up.

While many dislike the P250 trigger action, the pistol does have a reasonably loyal following. It really is pretty good for a DAO auto-loader.
