Not sure if the promotion is still running, but Academy had a "Buy one, get one" sale on the Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro. The Taurus sold for 289.99 and you get a free Heritage .22 revolver. (Retail 189.00)

There's also a coupon in the Heritage box for 1 year free NRA membership.

I've recently got more involved with rimfire shooting. In the last year I have purchased a S&W M&P 15-22, a S&W Victory .22 target pistol, and now I have the Heritage SAO revolver.

Lots of fun, and shooting on the cheap!

Gee, thanks for ruining my day. :cuss: :D

I'd be on that like a duck on a junebug except for one thing. The only two Academy stores within reasonable driving distance are over in Texas. For some reason that I've forgotten TX and NM don't have reciprocity on handgun sales but do on long guns. The one Academy in my state involves a very long daytrip to a city that I don't want to travel to in the first place. Even for a deal like this.

It is federal law that you cannot buy or sell handguns across state lines without either having an FFL or having the handgun shipped to a FFL in your state.

Thanks for the reminder. It hasn't been something that's important to me. The few working brain cells I have left have trouble keeping up with things they really need to.

No state has reciprocity on handgun sales.

Why drive?
Buy it online and have it delivered to your FFL.

Not exactly.
No Federal law prohibits you from selling your firearm in another state......as long as the buyer is an FFL.

The Taurus is easily found for $189 delivered and the Heritage for less than $105.
Add in sales tax and it really isn't that great of a deal.

No sure where you're finding them at that price. The PT-111 G2 is $270 at Buds. Add the FFL transfer fee and you're easily over $300

Not sure? Did you go to the link I posted?
Here: https://www.wikiarms.com/guns?q=PT-111

Although prices flunctuate daily and even hourly, at 4:15pm today several show the PT-111 G2 at less than $220 delivered.

And if you are paying $30 for a transfer then you need to shop around.

I’m with dogtown on this. It’s not much of a deal for 3 reasons

1.) the price is about thr same as any other day if you shop around

2.) in times past when academy did this sort of deal they only have a couple in stock and the deal is used as bait

3.) thankfully for $300 in today’s market a guy can do better than a Taurus or if you do want a Taurus you can go elsewhere and save $100

Is the heritage any good? Quality wise to be specific

The heritage is great. No it is not a Ruger Single Six, but the one I bought in 1994 is still going strong and very accurate. You would not be disappointed if you picked one up.

The heritage I bought a couple years ago was so bad I probably wouldn’t t take another one even if it was free.

Maybe I just got real unlucky but if nothing else I learned their customer service is pretty bad
