So I walk into my LGS yeaterday, which is a very small country type general store which doesn't really have a lot of product turnover or product at all for that matter, maybe 10 handguns and 25 rifles at a time.

Anyway, years ago he had a few Glocks for sale in there but there was a robbery and the guns were stolen and the mags were left.

Well anyway I just happen to notice as he was re-organizing a few things in there that there were two 33rd mags behind the counter so I go "hey what's the deal with those" as I thought maybe he had ordered them for somebody and he goes on rustling around behind the counter and pulls out 3 other Glock mags and says "make me an offer, I aint got no use for them" so I offered him $120 bucks and he let them go for $125 and that was that.

All in all I was pretty psyched to end up with two 33rd 9mm mags, 2-10rd 9mm mags and 1-10rd .45 mag, all Glock factory mags too BTW.

I know it would have been better if the standard 10 rounders were standard high caps but I feel that I made out pretty well, besides they make good range mags. Good deal don't ya think?

BTW, he knew exactly what they were worth and had the Glock store mag right in front of him, otherwise I probably would have tried getting away with offering him a little less considering they probably would have still been sittin there 15 years later had I not happenned to spot them behind the counter.

He is definitely a highballer max profit kind of guy anyway, can't get a pair of carhaart pants in there for under $60, so I was surprised he even bartered with me.

You can buy the 33 round Glock mags for about $33 each from Midway.

The 10 rounds mags, I dont know about. Not many people around here would pay for them. The gun store guy did not make a bad deal.

I think you did all right. Those Glock ten rounders have more value in states where magazine capacity is restricted, so you might be able to sell them and get standard capacity Glock mags.

CDNN has about the cheapest mail order prices around (if you order on a weekend you get s&h for $5.99)
http://www.cdnninvestments.com/glock.html

2x 33round 9mm's $60
2x 17 round 9mm's $40
1x 10 round .45 $18
$118 + shipping

The 10 rounders make good range mags.

Well, I guess I didn't realize that you could get the Factory 33 rounders for $30, in the Glockstore magazine they are $61.99 and all other factory mags are $29.99 so I looked at it like I got 3 extra mags basically free, huh.

I still don't feel cheated or anything like that, besides every time I order something online it is a big hassle and I have to wait or on top of waiting when I do finally get the product it is defective and have to send it back and wait again, happens just about every time.

BTW, I didn't know that the 10 rounders were sought after, how would I go about trading them for new 17 and 13 rounders, maybe post an add in THR accessories?

Ten-rounders are hardly "sought after" but in states with a ten round mag limit they are required. I think I paid $10 each for my G17 & G21 10-rounders.
I know that I bought my 33-rd G18 mags 3/$100 OTD locally and they were genuine Glock new in bubble pack.

You did fine. :) I have trouble paying more than $15/mag since I got some for that. But deals like that are few and far between these days.

Hmmm, I guess it wasn't such a good deal after all.

I guess I should have looked harder because I have never found them as cheap as $15 like others, I used the Glock store mag as a reference and thought I did all right.

Oh well, you live and learn, I still plan on buying about 10 more Glock mags so I guess ill know for next time.

I have 11 mags between four Glocks and I want to have 6 mags per gun, any other suggestions for places to get affordable mags?

Check out www.cdnninvestments.com next time!

They have some Asian military Glock full capacity mags for $5.99.......

No one wants 10 rd mags. A couple years ago, they could hardly give them away.

I don't like them for the range, because, fully loaded, they're too hard to fully seat when the slide is forward.

Thanks for the suggestions, I may pick up a few scherer's and KCI's just to see if they're any good, but normally I only buy factory or OEM.

I don't really care whether they are drop free or not just as long as they work every time.

Does anybody know whether or not Glock makes a .45acp super hi-cap 25 rounder or is it just scherer?

I actually will not be buying non-OEM mags after all, the reason I love Glocks is because of their outstanding reliability, and buying $6.99 Non-OEM mags really doesn't make any sense.

I have never had a Fail to anything in any of my Glocks and I intend to keep it that way as long as possible, I will just buy Glock and pay more for quality.

I don't have a problem spending more money for quality, I just didn't realize that I could buy Glock factory mags for $30 (33 rds) and $17 (Glock factory mags).

there's no such thing as a quality glock aftermarket mag. oem is the way to go, my friend :)

Natchez has pretty good prices if you are still looking for a place to purchase.

$19 for Glock 17 17 round magazine
$28 for 33 round 9mm magazine
$22 for Glock 21 13 round magazine

Scherer mags are awful. I had one of them once because it came with a pistol I bought used- a 30-rounder. I still remember to this day the sound of 30 rounds of 9mm bouncing on the concrete floor when the baseplate came off the bottom.

The Khan mags are not much better.

The KCI mags are so far 99.9% as good as factory Glock. My local gunstore had a deal with two KCI G17 mags in a nylon double-mag pouch for $16, marked down to $10. So far they work!

Other than that, do not waste your money on non-oem Glock mags. The KCIs work. The rest do not.

You did ok and supported your local business.

If you are watching your pennies and have time you should check with CDNN and natchez first.

For buying locally, I'd say you got a good deal. It's not the steal of the century, but you didn't get hosed. None of my local stores sell Glock mags less than $30. I know I can mail order cheaper, but. I don't like the hassle.

Agreed :). I too am not fond of internet purchasing, I like to see, hold and walk out with what I want and use it that day, plus that way if you have a problem with the product you can look the guy in the eye who sold it to you and settle it as opposed to being routed to 5 different departments and talking to 8 different people to get 1 thing taken care of.

I do have to be somewhat conscientious when making purchases but I think after all the shipping and aggravation everything evens out at the end of the day.
