Report on York PA Gunshow/Machinegun show today:
Ammo still in short supply. Alot of Russian Wolf available, if you want Wolf. Winchester White box non-existent. Ammo prices are HIGH:what:45ACP $25+a box, 44 Mag $50 a box. The good news was primers were in good supply and the dealers were not gouging. CCI Large Rifle and Large Pistol was $27/1000. Dealer told me he has gotten three shipments in the last two days 175,000 primers and his distributors are telling him the backlog is slowly breaking. Most AR's were $800-$1300 depending on model. Almost no 308 AR's and just acouple PTR-91's $1195 to $1400. Cheap FNFAL/G-3 mags are climbing in price. BEWARE resized Russian 30 caliber bullets that are being sold as factory bullets. The dealers sell them by the pound. The $8 Admission was steep. If that keeps going up it may reduce my visits.

Those primers went quickly! Stubbygear sold out in first 15 minutes.

Prices were reasonable compared to last few shows on most things, and it was not insanely overcrowded. Selection was pretty thin.

.308 ammo was nuts, .380 was INSANE ($50 for crap). Very glad I built up stock prior to the madness. Sold two port battlepacks for $240 while standing in line. They were asking $150+ per BP inside.

Picked up a nice S&W Model 60 snubby, an a bunch of "stuff". Stubby had good prices on lots of stuff, including .223 ammo, powder, and RRA ARs.

I picked up some of those $27/1k primers, too. I have a few thousand in stock, but I figured I'd buy one more box of large rifle and large pistol just to have some excess on hand.

I went specifically intending to pick up some Varget. Still hard as hell to find. No IMR 4895 either. Guess I'll keep on looking and calling my good suppliers.

How would anyone who knows anything about reloading be duped by this? I buy factory sealed boxes of components. If I were buying bullets by the pound out of ziploc bags . . . hey as the saying goes, "Let the buyer beware."

I saw a real nice 2nd generation Detective Special with a factory hammer shroud for $425.00 there. If I only saw that one while I was in the market for one . . . . :( Hell, if I only had $425.00 I could spare for another one . . . .

I even saw real pretty a 2.5" Diamondback. <drool>

Lots of machineguns there. Saw some Federal 5.56 in 200 round boxes for $99.00. I'm really not a 5.56 man, myself. But I saw it.

I did get a real nice project to play around with. Saw a fellow selling nice WWII-era German kitchen cutlery blanks there. I picked up a really neat blade design, all it needs is a handle. I do all the cooking around here, so I appreciate good kitchen knives. I have Henkels here now, but nothing like this. I got a great little cleaver for $12.00.

I saw AR's; Mini-14's; AK variants . . . . sounds like my magic mirror at Romper Room. Anyway. Things seems to be normalizing a bit. The market's nowhere near pre-election levels, but it seems to have hit its ceiling and begun to stabilize a bit.

$8 admission? Try $13 after a one dollar online coupon plus $5 for parking. I realized that I could have just paid the hazmat fee if I had ordered online! Good to hear about the primers.
