SACO -- The Army has awarded a $10 million contract extension to General Dynamics for MK19 grenade launchers to be built in Saco.
General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products says deliveries of the weapons are expected to begin next year and extend through July 2012.

ZThe MK19 is capable of firing 400 grenades a minute. Jeffrey Gramse, gun systems program manager, calls it an essential weapon for the U.S. armed forces.
