Good Ol' 222

Nice shooting.

Maybe some day I’ll dabble with a 222 Remington. Unfortunately, I have to many irons in the fire so to speak to take on a new project.

A SAKO Vixen in .222 Rem is a treasure, and always the Crown Princess at any shooting range.

In a spot of foolishness, I sold my Sako Riimakii in .222. It was a tack driver at 100 yards using Hornady .55 grain SX bullets. I now have a bull barrel for my Contender carbine in .222, but it doesn't shoot as good as the Sako.

Here is the other group I shot the same day from the Sako with a different bullet. Another first time try, this time with Hornady's 52gr. HPBT Match bullet.

Below is the load I typically shoot in the Sako (this one is a 10-shot group). Will probably look at switching to Hornady bullets since the Noslers are more expensive and have been unavailable for some time.
