So, FBI raids his office and finds 23 guns. What a mess that city is in.

Every elected official is required to take an oath of office:

US Constitution, Article VI: Clause 3: The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution.

A man who takes an oath he does not intend to keep is a crook. Deep in his bowels and the marrow of his bones, he's a crook.

So why are we surprised when one of them is caught?
