Good price for a Charles Daly 10-40/45

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good price for one new? Used? Is this a quality firearm? I've not heard much on this brand.

In the order you asked:

Free
They give you $10.00
No
With good reason

In my most humble opinion...

I don't know about the gun, but you've just met the President of the company, an individual who spends a lot of time on this board, and is here to help with anything... that speaks volumes.

Fedaykin,

The Daly DDA was made for us by Bul in Israel in the mid-90's. It's a CZ pattern gun with a nice ergonomical polymer frame. We discontinued them several years ago but at the time, a new one went for around $349.00. We still have parts and magzines if you ever need service or spare mags.

Regards,
Michael

Well then I suppose 140 bucks wouldn't be too much to sacrifice. I've always been curious about that pattern of gun anyway. And thanks for taking the time Mr. Kassnar, I may pick it up just because I know your company has a presence here if needed:)

I have the 45 version. It is basicly a CZ 75 clone, very similar to witness pistols. Mine is very accurate with my round nose reloads but it will choke once in awhile on my 200swc loads. Good to hear there are mags available because they were very scarce in the past. I like it so much I'm shooting a match with it sunday just for the heck of it. Mark

Nothing humble about it varoadking.

You are the most anti-Daly entity on the internet. Certainly a badge you can wear with pride!

I prefer to think of myself as just another consumer that has developed educated opinions that result in subjective preferences. I am not on an anti-CD mission, but if asked, I will share my thoughts.

Look around - you will find sentiments on both sides of the fence for any brand:

A poll of 100 or so people might not be representative of the global market, but given the results as shown, the fact that you rank only above Hi-Point and Kahr, (still trying to figure out how CD topped Kahr) and below Kel-Tec and Taurus in quality and value, should tell you something about how the CD brand is perceived by the buying public.

Again...IMMHO

All that poll tells me is how 100 people feel, hardly representative of anything. And you constantly tell us how you feel about CD. Since you won't elaborate, other than refer to your "educated opinion", I'm done asking.

Well, I think the biggest problem with the DDA was the polymer frame. I would have bought one, perhaps more than one, if it had the steel frame and would have ditched my EAA Witness if it proved equally reliable. I keep the Witness because it has been 100% but I just don't like EAA at all. It's a bad thing to use a product in spite of the importer.

When the DDA came out, I hoped beyond hope that a steel frame would be introduced. Ah, but it was not to be.

I also, then, hoped that the CZ-TT would be introduced with a steel frame. Zip, there, too.

And the, the AR-24 came out. But, no large frame, only the mid-frame. Still, stuck with the EAA. I was happy when the CZ-97 came out, but it was bigger than the EAA plus the safety only engages when cocked.

So, I keep looking.

Ash
