My local Gander Mountain has the 870 Express for $270, after a $30 rebate. Is that a decent price for a new 870? I've heard Gander Mountain prices firearms a bit high, and I dont know where else to check to see if this is a good deal. Thanks guys.

Where are you? Academy here in Texas has them for $230 regular price. Haven't seen them for much under that anywhere in quite a while.

I'm in New York. I heard about the Academy price and checked to see if there was one around, but there's none within 250 miles.

Better prices to be had. And take advantage of the rebate.

Giving a closer location than "New York" may help others help you.

Our local Gander had them for $269 after $30 rebate as well. But, they are not the new laminated stocks. I would suggest looking for a used one. I ran across several over the weekend at different shops, that looked brand new, and they were all priced right at $200.

Way to high for around here.
Seems to me that Gander is stupid high on most of thre guns. Academy usually has the best buy.

I'm trying to find some other stores that would carry one, but there's not much around Syracuse. I'll try to find some pawn shops, and there's a Bass Pro Shop about an hour from me, do they tend to be better? Thanks guys.

Where in Texas did you find this thing for $230?! Is that a misprint? I saw one for $389 at Academy!

MaterDei posted the Academy link, but if you wait long enough Academy usually puts them on sale a couple times a year as well. I think last Christmas they were advertising for $189 or so for Express models in 26" or 28". I actually went and picked up a couple just to sell online. They sold quickly, so I'm assuming that in other parts of the country they cost more :D

I payed $270 for a short barrel 6 rounder in Salt Lake City. That seems to be a pretty standard price around here. Could be better... could also be worse.

Yeah I almost bought one of those, but then I saw the 20" extended tube one next to it and got that instead.

It wasn't $270...;)

I bought a Remington 870 Express on sale from Dick's Sporting Goods almost a year ago for $229 but the final price was $199 after the $30 MIR. I doubt I will ever see that price again but who knows? BTW, this 870 has the 3" Magnum Receiver and wooden stocks.

The basic Remington 870 Express goes for $239 at Walmart around here. Of course, combo and slug guns are going to be higher in price.
