Well we had a good range session with the AK 47 today. The rifle is an Arsenal SLR 107FR made in Bulgaria. We have topped this off with a KVAR SM 13 mount, scope is a Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 1.5-4 X20 with green firedot SPR reticle.

The ammunition used is some Russian 123 gr. FMJ L.CB. Lacquered steel case, non corrosive Berdan primed ammo.
The first two sighters at 50m were touching and a few inches low. I moved the scope up and went to 200 yds. After firing a group I observed only one shot on paper at the very bottom. Using that as a benchmark I adjusted the scope accordingly and fired this three shot group at 200yds.

Shooting the thick reticle on this scope along with relatively low power, a 3" circle was basically completely obscured. Observing the 3 shot group being approx 2" left, I adjusted the scope and was able to make 5 consecutive hits on an 8" plate at 200 yds.
I would like to know your thoughts on current replacement trigger groups!

5 hits on a 8" plate at 200 yards with an AK? Very good. I don't think a different trigger will help enough to be worth it. Its an AK for one thing, and second, it won't help you see the target better.

Not an ak guy so can't help with triggers, but I must say very nice group for 200yds!
Thank you!
This one tends to shoot pretty well. Out of the 15 or so AK's I have owned 4 were a little more accurate than the others.
If I can consistently get 3 consecutive hits out of 3 shots fired on that 200 yd plate, I am satisfied.
