CDNN (cdnninvestments.com) currently has good prices on quality .223 (Lake City). Their ammo offerings are erratic, but good when offered. Note, their ammo is only listed in the printed catalog (including the PDF you can download), it is NOT listed on their web store.
AIM Surplus has really good prices on a lot of stuff.
Big john is friendly , courteous, when he and his crew are not on the road, they will anwser calls and emails. they do real world shipping, his most costly is either to wash state, or the north east; for instance , 1 brick of 22 ammo costs about 12 bucks to move that far, and 15 bucks for 2. He is located in Brenham Tx.
their website is very incomplete, he has so much diff types of milsurp , it is not even hillarious!!! call and ask if they have somehting you don't see on their site...
I've had good luck with Ammoman, Sportsmans Guide, and Cabelas. The ammo I ordered from SG & Cabelas was backordered and took them months to get the ammo in and ship it out to me, and during that time the price had increased by over $100/case (and I had ordered almost 20 cases total of 308 and 5.56). Both SG and Cabelas only charged me the price at which it was initially ordered (saving me about $2k over the current price when it shipped). Shipping was also extremely reasonable for the amount and weight of ammo I got. I would definitely use either again if they had a good deal on ammo I wanted.
Just received an order from ammunition to go - they were awesome - order shipped that day. They have some factory reloaded military range fired 223 that so far has been totally reliable and is the best deal I've been able to find. Highly recommend.
