Sometimes we don't hear enough good news with firearms companies, but my recent experience with Savage is worth sharing with the THR faithful. The bolt on my oldest son's 93 recently seized after a day of shooting. We packed it up and sent it on its way with a note attached, and within two weeks, the good folks at Savage shipped it back neatly packaged and wrapped and reassembled. No charge for the warranty work.

I like that kind of excellent customer service, so I thought I would put out the good word for Savage. Here's a photo of the rifle after I unpacked it (the scope has since been reattached).

I can definitely confirm your experience, I have had nothing but excellent customer service from them while not having good experiences with many other companies.

Totally with you there. My Benelli Nova Pump also broke the same week as the Savage, and Benelli said it will be 6-8 weeks before they can get to the shotgun repair. :(

Their designs are kind of cheap and clunky, but I have dealt with them when having problems and can't think of a single negative thing otherwise.

I'd like to see Savage return to its roots of making a high quality fine rifle in addition to the economy jobs.
