I'm a big fan of the .40, but it's really not THAT big of a step up from 9mm in terms of effectiveness.

That being said, those are both great guns and ya' done well.

I find .40 has more kick in most HG's than a 9mm, that I just prefer a 45.

In any case if you like it, it's all good.

A good choice of round and gun. I have carried guns in 45, 357, 40, and 9. I used a 40 for the longest, but now carry a G19 because it has the most capacity for its size and weight, and I can get my entire hand on it while drawing it out of the holster.
I have used Ruger, Springfield, Taurus (mine always worked), and now drink the kool aid with Glock.

The SR9c is actually a really great gun. Its on my radar and im keeping an eye out for one. My buddy sold his P226 for an SR9c and he stands by the decision. Id say its a close call but the SR9c may actually have a nicer trigger.

G27 or any sub compact Glock for that matter is a excellent choice, you done good. Got a Glock 27 about 1997 or 1998 the thing shoots well and have had zero malfunctions with it with about 1900 rounds thru it.

My good friend has a G27. It is reliable, accurate, and about as small as one needs. However, I keep eyeballing the G39 (.45GAP) as the next step up; just about as small, and cutting a bigger hole. Anyone else with a desire/fondness for the .45GAP in the subcompact? I had a G36 that I had no complaints about, but the G39 is just that much smaller. When I finally go "plastic" for good, I think it will the '39.

I'd like to get a G39 but the gun shops around here really don't stock much of that ammo. And when I do find it it's pretty pricey. So I guess it'll have to wait.

But for now... I'll stick with my dandy little G27 as well. Excellent choice doc!

The Glock is a great upgrade. For me the 9mm is a better round as they are more affordable for training purposes and in defensive situations adaquate. The 40 is costly but hard hitting and heavy as a 45 in the recoil area.

I think you made the right move just ammo costs will be heavier but knock down will be heavier too!

I just picked up a 27 myself today. I regularly carry a Keltec PF9 and/or Kimber UC II but this one seems to fit pretty well. Based on the comments here it looks like we both did well. Congratulations to you!

That's CorBon ammo, the proverbial "ash cans". (Good friend of mine just gave me 70 rounds of .40 HP's in exchange for two boxes of vintage .44 special ammo and 6 boxes of 20+ year old 12ga rounds)

Bought a 100rnd box of WWB at WalMart today on my way home from buying the gun.

It was $28, only $4 more than 9mm WWB.

I can live with that since it won't be a range gun like the Combat Commander in 9mm.

Would you like to see a pic of it again?

You can have the best of all worlds with the 27 by doing this:

1) Get a Glock 33 OEM .357 Sig barrel and thus you now have a .40 S&W and .357 Sig with no changes execpt the barrel.

2) Get a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel made for the 27/33 Glocks. You will need some Glock 26 9mm mags but once done you now have a 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig!

3) Now get an AACK .22 unit for the 27. It consist of a slide and magazines (and get at least 4 mags for it!) Once that is done you have a .22, 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig!

Yes, FOUR guns in one.

I have a 26 and 27, AND the AACK .22 unit. All I need is a Glock 33 .357 Sig barrel.

Hey, no offense at all. Just cuttin' up a bit.

I got out of the 9mm Ruger and into the .40 Glock for no out-of-pocket.

It's gonna be my car gun.

I gave the guy an extra $20 to swap out the pinkie mag for the extra mag that came in the box.

Decent deal, and now I have a .40 for PD.

I'm good with it.

The Ruger will appear tomorrow in a local classified, and I bet it won't last three days. I sweetened the deal with a 100rnd's of WWB.

Hrm. I'm not so sure I'm sold on this massive improvement between a 9mm and a .40, personally.

It'd be a very and I do mean very tough choice for me between a CR9C and a Glock 26, though.

I like the mag extension and will be looking for one this week for sure.

You have made a wise choice.
I can think of no better subcompact self defense autoloader than the Glock G27.

Why?



Glock makes very reliable weapons,

The .40S&W round is a very effective self-defense caliber,

9+1 rounds of .40S&W (10+1 with a Pearce extension) is great capacity in a sub-compact weapon,

Easy to maintain and easy to trouble-shoot and repair...parts can be bought and replaced by just about anyone,

Very light weight for the size and capacity,

The G27 is a rather soft shooter for a subcompact .40 pistol,

"Drop in" barrels are readily available if one wants to convert it to a .357Sig or a 9mm Para,

The trigger-pull can be made heavier or lighter by the user for less than $30.00 dollars (no gunsmith required),

And there are plenty of accessories available too.
